“Good Hotel but not suitable for disabled”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Had a lovely stay at this hotel the staff were excellent and it is in a beautiful location. Very difficult for wheelchair users or people who cannot manage a lot of steps. Although they will open the security gates so that you can push a wheelchair down getting up the steep hill again is nigh impossible.
The bathrooms are difficult too there are no walk in facilities and the baths are very high except a couple of older rooms. OK for able bodied but difficult for someone small who is not able bodied.
I enjoyed the food and luckily I took my travel mobility scooter to get around otherwise I would never have got to the beach.
All in all we had a great holiday thanks to good companions and the friendliness of all the staff and the wonderful location.

I stayed this summer in the hotel Dassia Chandris in Corfu. We booked the trip last minute, and as other travellers already stated the hotel grew on us. I admit we stayed every day at the laguna pool of the Corfu hotel which was nicer in the beautifull garden. The Dassia breakfast was great but my dinner I preferred to have it at the Corfu hotel. This is one of the big advantages of these hotels, you can eat and swim where you want. If i would state one minus it is the bathroom, although clean it is not as modern any more for a 4 star hotel. But we travel a big deal professionaly and on holiday and never did I encounter more professional and friendly staff. Every one was so nice and helpfull. My congratulations to the staff of the Corfu and Dassia Chandris hotel at Corfu.

We travelled as a family for a weeks break in the sun and were not disappointed, not lots to do out and around hotel but did not affect us,reception staff very quickly sorted out a booking request problem we had beginning to think not normally hotels fault but travel co in this instance Thomson because once they got your cash the next time you speak to them (welcome meeting) 5 mins telling you important things buses etc they straight into overdrive re their expensive outings, dining here was good in respect of choice and quality for breakfast and evening meals probably lacks that extra special authentic dining experience on site but they do well and management and staff particularly in dining room pleasant and helpfull. They could do better in bar area to encourage more people to socialise there but still nice to sit and have quiet drink all be it expensive.Dont miss BBQ night it's great food and entertainment and live Greek music brilliant. We hired a 40hp motor boat for the day from a excellent hire place out hotel and turn right the first place you come too and went right up coast stopping off at remote coves and unspoilt marinas etc unforgettable .bedrooms and beds very goog room safe fridge and we had lovely sea views all in all woulda recommend for a WEEKS break .also swimming on beach in front hotel great but you get charged 3 euros per bed not unreasonable but free round pool and hotel gardens.

Room Tip: Get sea view 5th floor lovely and quiet

nice hotel stayed there after a weeks cruising, the only faults with this hotel were the price of drink and the greek night. Dassia is a small resort with not a great deal to do at night. However you can get the bus too Corfu town right outside the hotel and takes about 1/2 hour and well worth the effort.

Spent two nights here after leaving our grotty hotel! We would have stayed longer but it was fully booked all week. Nice room but it did over look the road which is a little noisy at night. Beach view rooms would be much better. Food was plentiful if a little bland. Mass catering which does take away the authenticity of local tavernas. The hotel seems to cater for the rich, older generation which is OK but the atmosphere is not exactly lively. On both of the nights we spent there, the hotel hosted a wedding reception which meant having to take an early dinner. OK I guess but annoying if you arent hungry. Nice pool area but needs more sun loungers. £120 a night is OK but you can find cheaper, family hotels which offer a better atmosphere and better food. I do think it's a shame that these large hotels, take away the people from the local tavernas which are really struggling. There are some great places to eat. Much better than the bland food in these hotels. It is a lovely hotel but too expensive for the likes of me!

Room Tip: Beach view room every time.

We stayed at the Chandris Dassia at the beginning of August for 6 nights. The hotel was nice and tidy and the food although not brilliant you could always find something that was pleasant enough. The location and proximity to the beach was great. The pool and surrounding areas were lovely. Sadly our room was very small for a family of 4. The bedroom chair was on the small balcony because it couldn't fit in with all the beds lodged next to one another. Also you couldn't see over the balcony when you sat on the chairs on the balcony so you couldn't appreciate the views as much as we'd have liked to. The room cleaning wasn't great the floor and bathroom were not cleaned once during our stay. Apart from those little gripes we had a great time, We also felt based on our experience of other 4 and 5 star hotels it did deserve its 4 stars.

Room Tip: Beachside rooms are much quiter than those facing the road.
