“Incredible”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We took an organised tour which took us by coach and then troll car to within 500mtrs of the glacier, still quite a walk but really worthwhile. The scenery was amazing and the ride in the troll car was really fun especially going under the waterfall. We were very fortunate to have a hot sunny day I suspect if it was raining it might not be such a enjoyable experience. But if you enjoy the fantastic views that Norway has to offer then you will not be disappointed.

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

A great day out while visiting the Norwegian west coast fjords. One can choose to walk up to the glacier from the visitors centre, a 30 minute steep walk, or take one of the many jeep like vehicles that take you almost to the base of the glacier itself. Only a 7 minute leisurely walk to the glacier lake. Be sure to get their early before the tourist buses arrive, because they have group bookings for the vehicles and it was difficult to book vacant seats. Good facilities at the visitors center with a cafe/restaurant and a huge gift shop with high quality souvenirs.

“Highlight in this region, do it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

A perfect 4-5 hour day. it's a pleasant 2 mile hike up to the glacier along a raging stream with numerous small drops and different mountain vistas. Take an hour and just enjoy the glacier and watch for calving. Remember, you hear it after it starts to fall!

“A beautiful walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

It takes around an hour to walk up to the glacier, it is rather steep in some parts. There is a beautiful water fall near the start. I found the walk quicker on the way back. There is a souvenir shop and a café at the start.

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

There is a walk of about an hour (allowing for photo-stops) to this glacier. At the start there is a stunning high waterfall, then a delightful walk (even in the rain) through beautiful terrain to the glacier at the bottom of which is a lake. The whole area is very scenic.
Not suitable for wheelchairs although there is transport to within 10 minutes of the lake/glacier for those with limited mobility.
Toilets, shop & restaurant at start/finish of walk.
