Great hosts, rooms, food. Everything fantastic. Stayed three nights. Very close to the West Coast National Park. The three guest rooms are in their own house so lots of space. Only problem. Get good directions to find as Langebaan small but complicated road system.

We have just returned from a holiday in South Africa. During the last week we stayed at Walking on Water. If ever you go to this area of South Africa you must stay at this wonderful guest house. Of all the guest houses we stayed, 10 in total this time, this guest house was the best. Mags and Andrea are two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. Their guest house is a class above the rest. The rooms are decorated very tastfully and are extremely comfortable with superb views of the lagoon. Mags breakfasts are varied, tasty and full of calories.(go on a diet before you get there ). My husband is a bird photograph and found Andrea to be extremely helpful, infact, he help plan our days to give us the most bird watching opportunities. So whatever your reason for staying in Langebaan, Walking on Waters in the place to stay.

My husband and I recently visited Langebaan to see the West Coast flowers and had the privilege of staying at Walking on Water. Our first impression on arriving was to be met by Magdel and Andre who took us to show us our room which was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and an amazing view of the lagoon from our balcony. Breakfast was served in the mornings by Magdel who went to a lot of trouble ensuring that each morning we got a wide variety and with individual touches. Each morning after breakfast Andre spent time with us by producing maps of the surrounding areas and guiding us to the best areas to visit and his knowledge was amazing making our three day stay very memorable. This is highly recommended and if we are ever in this part of the world again we would not hesitate to stay at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast hosted by two very helpful hosts.

On the road up to Walk on Water we initially became a bit downhearted as the area was very suburban but when we arrive at the accommodation it didn't disappoint in any way. We had the Blue Room which was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, the large room and en-suite bathroom have been well planned to provide all comforts e.g lots of cupboard space, table and comfy chairs in the window area with coffee making facilities, fridge to chill ones wine. There is a large shared terrace with sun-beds, table and chairs and great view to coast and garden area. The room has a very large window with views down to the bay, and for nature lovers immediately outside of the window plants have been cultivated to encourage a large selection of birds.  The West Coast National Park is 2 Klms away.  Andre was very helpful in talking us through the best bits of the park for birding and views.  It is a really stunning park and WOW is so conveniently close by.

Very good breakfast prepared by Maggs, different each day though a little on the large side. Maggs is a very warm hearted woman and endeavored to meet all our needs, in particular my gluten free diet for which she baked gluten free muffins and crepes.

Stay here and you will be well looked after!

We had great views over the Langebaan lagoon from a luxury room. Outside shared balcony available too. Excellent breakfasts with very individual touches. Watch the many different bird species landing on the feeder. Andre is a bird expert and his knowledge of the West Coast National park, as a ranger, is extensive. The lagoon colours are sensational and there are several lovely beaches to visit. We only stayed for two nights unfortunately but there is a lot more to see in this relatively undiscovered part of the country, yet so close to Cape Town. If you like to eat fish, then reserve a table well in advance at the Strandloper beach restaurant for 11 courses cooked on an open fire with great sunset views too at a very reasonable cost.
This was the last of the 10 places we stayed on our holiday and what a find!

Andre and Magdel are exceptional hosts - extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the region. Andre's tour is not to be missed. The rooms are spacious and luxurious with beautiful bathrooms. Everything is provided to make your stay comfortable. The breakfasts are WOW! It is a very special place high up on the hill overlooking the lagoon. We stayed three days and were very sad to leave.
