“Beach Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

This open-air restaurant is a really good venue to visit for a fantastic meal. I was worried about sand and food etc, but was very pleasantly surprised at how sheltered the venue is. The variety of food is mind-boggling!

Oh yes ansd there even a local guitarist to serenade you with typical tunes from the area. Just F A B U L O U S

“Rustic fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

Wow! what an amazing experience! Loved the whole outdoors experience. Took our own booze and ice and ate like kings and queens! So much seafood, so little time. Loved the bread being baked in the open ovens and the handmade rolls on the coals. 10 courses of which some were Mussels, harders, snoek (with apricot jam - oh my word - heaven!), angelfish, yellowtail, lamb bredie (stew), ending of with crayfish and moor koffie with koeksusters! what an amazing way for families and friends to come together. but be warned, the seats/benches are not very comfortable and are pretty low down on the sand, so take a cushion with you. The only downer was having to pack up and leave:( I could have sat there all night as well.
They do 2 sittings, one starts at 12:00 and the other at 18:00. We opted for the early one and with the amazing wether, managed to get a dip in the sea too! Beware if you don't like outside long drop toilets though, this the only form of loos they have! Rustic indeed!

“Disappointing but authentic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

I had a great evening regardless of what I'm about to comment on as we were there for a wedding, which was amazing! BUT the rustic toilets forced me to lose a star. They are portable loos with barely no lighting for night time use. Creepy and unhygienic. Also, the mussels still had the beard and the crayfish still had its poop string, ugh. Saying all that, it is a great place for the children to play whilst you are eating. Very casual. Very authentic.

“Worth a visit if you haven't experienced this type of dining before”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Lovely casual atmosphere. Nice to be able to bring your own drinks. It is a dining experience that is fairly unique and the owners and staff add to the ambiance.
