“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2012

It was exactly what I was looking for in a vacation resort. I was at first looking for a quiet place, but there was plenty to do with good people, good food and good drinks!
The room service was superb :) The waiters were no different and getting a smile from the workers there was really easy!!!
The room wasn't extraordinary but it was perfect for what I was looking for. The restaurants were clean; the food was very good. The service at the restaurants were A1 starting from the maitre-D right down to the waitress.
And the wine wasn't bad either hah!
The entertainment at night was just long enough, entertaining and just what the doctor ordered!
The pool and beach areas were both pristine and the entertainment by the pool was just great.
Overall it was very enjoyable and I tip my hat to all the workers there. They did a fantastic job.
I recommend this resort for couples and/or single. All ages will enjoy this place.

Travelled between February 18-25, travelling with 4 people.
This was the first time visiting Cuba and we had a wonderful vacation at Playa Pesquero. The service was great and the staff was extremely friendly. We stayed in Block 52, very close to the pool, buffet and beach. I'd recommend getting a room on the second floor, we had one on the main floor but found bugs came through our screen door. Our fridge was restocked every afternoon with beer, coke and water. The pool is huge, so you don't need to worry about running into people and there are tons of lounge chairs, (for 4 together). The beach is stunning. You can find clear water with white sand, and also to the left of the beach there is a place you can snorkel and see lot's of different types of fish and sea creatures. The beach gets really busy in the afternoon, so I would grab lounge chairs beforehand.
The food was as expected for Cuba. Our favorite restaurant was the Romantico and the Grill. The Romantico books up very quickly, so making reservations as soon as you arrive is your best option. The Grill was also really good, the service there was probably the best we had.
The resort is huge, but there is lot's to see, and if you are feeling lazy, there are employees who drive golf carts who will pick you up and drop you off where ever you want to go!
For excursions, we did the catamaran/dolphins. This was the best part of our trip, it's definitely worth the price. The dolphins were really interactive, a definite must do!
Overall great holiday:)

Room Tip: Block 52- close to pool, beach and buffets. Quiet and Clean. Fridge gets restocked everyday with Bee...

Spent the first week of March 2012 there. A pretty nice resort. The room was large and clean with a fridge. The bathroom is starting to show its age but still alright. The beach and the large pool were beautiful. The hotel offers several restaurants in addition to the buffet. Since I don't like seafood my selection was more limited, but the other people in our party were quite satisfied with the food.

A word of caution. We hired one of the cabs (a 1952 Chevy) from the hotel parking lot to take us into Holguin. The driver did not speak English, but was to take his wife (or girlfriend) along as an interpreter. It turned out that we could not communicate much with her either. The car was not safe to drive - no seat belts, doors that only opened from the outside, no side mirrors, non functioning windshield wipers. We were lucky to get back in one piece. At the end, he demanded more money than what was originally agreed to.

2 week honeymoon bliss! £1850 bagged us a great holiday with beautiful friendly staff and people. We will defiantly be returning.... Canadians were very welcoming and the Cubans were terrific. Special shout out to the animation team... Forgive me I can't remember their names but will post pics later. Shrek taught us volleyball the dude who kept shouting Banana point was so funny... ET for entertaining us on the beach he's a real womaniser and cigar man. The catamaran guys were great chucking me in the middle of the ocean! Must do it snorkel the real untouched reefs. If you go and book your trips do at least the dolphin one. You won't be disappointed and it's 100 Cuban pesos about 100 quid free booze all day lobster lunch and swim with dolphins. Fantastic. Don't go expecting the 5 star apartments your never in them they are fine but the weather people and food makes Cuba.

This was my 3rd time going to Cuba (4th for my wife). For the most part, I've grown to know that Cuban food is decent, but not amazing. I would say, however, that the food here was fantastic. If you love seafood, then you'll enjoy the freshly grilled (or deepfried) seafood.

There were lots of restaurants to choose from, lots of bars to choose from, lots of places to get coffee.

The rooms are in good conditions. The pool(s) are inter-connected and enormous. The beach is a lovely white sandy beautiful sight.

It's a huge resort (900+ rooms) but even though it was packed it didn't feel packed.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who was interested in going to Cuba.

We had an amazing week at Playa Pesquero!
Food-delicious (best food we ever had), rooms-clean and comfortable, beach\pool - beautiful, people - friendly, kids club - my child love it ! Food is very important for me, as i'm gluten intolerant, i eat only organic food, no lactose, no process meets, no sugar. Cuba has no GMO food, chickens free run, fish and sea food mostly wiled or organic farming. We ate red snapper, salmon, shrimps, lobsters, tuna - every day , only this would cost us a fortune in Canada. We love cuban food. We will comeback and it will be our fifth time in Pesquero!!! Thank you everybody at Playa Pesquero for great vacation ! Special thanks for Ari and all the girls working at kid's club.
