“Amazing view but basic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

We stayed at the pantheon hotel from 15th to 22nd August, and I must say that Kos is now my favourite holiday destination! The hotel was lovely, but be warned that to rooms are incredibly basic. A few nags - toilet seat broken, bin broken and dust around. Other than that, room was a perfect size, view of the sea and island from whatever angle which was perfect!! The walk down to the town was tough but doable. I would advise to hire a car for all days though as it's so worth it! Favourite restaurant was Sebastians by far, and evening bar would have to be Flamingo Bar! All in all, brilliant holiday. Janet couldn't make you feel more welcome!!

We recently stayed at the Pantheon during a four night working holiday. Absolutely everything was perfect from day one. The owner, Janet, can't do enough for her guests, and makes you feel so at home. The food is delicious, and also very reasonably priced, although on this occasion we were on full board. Rooms are clean and fresh, and aircon is provided for a very small charge - definitely worth having!

The pool area is a fabulous place to relax. The pool itself was always clean and very well maintained. The sun umbrella's could do with a bit of tlc, but that's my only quibble!

The last thing to mention are the views, which have to be the best on the whole island. The hotel may be more remote than others, but the view more than makes up for it!

Looking forward to booking for next year.

We're just come back from a 1 week holiday at the pantheon apartments. When we arrived, later in the evening, we were greated by janet, the owner. She's an english lady very helpfull and always smiling. Our room was in the second building at the 2nd floor. From the balcony you cam see kefalos village and the beautiful kastri island in the bay. We didn't need the air conditioned because of the Wind. Our room was spacious, always clean, with a fantastic view and a small kitchen. The pool was clean, spacious and with free sunbeds. In the evening they have an "half board menù" composed of a main course, a dessert and a soup or greek salad. All the courses are very tasty, good quality and traditional. The hotel is a bit far away from the centre of kefalos but the beach can be easily reached by the hotel's courtesy bus that runs 3 Times a day (10 am, 1.30 Pm. And 6 Pm.) but if you are a good walker you can walk down the Hill where the hotel is sitted in 15-20 minutes. So we spent there a great and relaxing holiday! They Also have an internet point (0,50 cent per 30 min) and a wifi system

We stayed at the Pantheon the last week of June and had an absolutely fantastic holiday. Janet, Panos, Louise and the rest of the team could not have been more helpful. The room we had was great, superb views and for us a perfect location. We will be going back for sure!!!

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the brilliant Pantheon. As soon as we arrived Janet made us feel so welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble for her. Our room had great views of the sea and Kefalos, well worth the 15 minute walk to Kefalos. We ate at the tavernas in Kefalos as we were staying B & B, which consisted of juice, hot drinks (tea, coffee, hot chocolate), ceral, yoghurt and toast. You could pay for a full English breakfast too. Our favourite tavernas were the Golden Fleece, Maria's, Aphrodite (by the harbour) and Hub's (one of the first you come too) for the best pizza! We hired a Fiat Panda from Manolis & drove around most of the island. Our favourite beach was Lagada, which was a 10 minute drive away. All in all we had a brilliant holiday thanks to the lovely Janet and staff and would reccommend a stay at the Pantheon.

Great views from rooms as everyone says. Kefalos is a strange place - you have the Pantheon which is set a little bit up away from the sea and nearer to the airport, the beach area and harbour, the main road just in from the beach and higher inland the old town. Janet is always very friendly and helpful and the pool is average-hotel size and there was always sun loungers free to use. The walk down to Jims supermarket where the hotel lift drops you off and picks you up is about 15 minutes walk down and longer to walk back uphill. We went at end of June - it was pretty hot about 30-33 c. Definitely need air-con.Best restaurant was Hippocrates by a long way. Definitely book a car - we used manolis opposite Jims supermarket. 2 days hire seemed enough to see most of the island. Driving there is a dream - main roads are good and very quiet. Kos town is very attractive around the harbour area. We took two boats trips - the nissyros one was by far the best - better than the three island one though the sponge-factory was interesting.

Room Tip: All rooms have a good view. We were in the main hotel bit and on the side facing towards the rest of...

Me & my sister stayed at The Pantheon the beginning of June. The weather was perfect for us. The Pantheon is up a hill, but hey, with views like that!! We did walk up & down a couple of time, mainly at night, one bit coming up has no street lights, so be warned, a torch would be good. I downloaded a torch to my IPhone which really came in handy. Plenty of Taverna's down in the town, we walked to the other end by the Harbour to eat, also the small beach there was nice & quiet & clean. The main beach in Kefalos & Kamari Bay isn't really all that. Paradise beach is a must, it looked really busy when we got there, but if you walk along the beach, it becomes a lot quieter, sandy beach & clear crystal water.
Mount Zia is fantastic for sunset views, there are some lovely souvenir shops up there & a few restaurants that have great panoramic views, the food was great & very reasonable.
Kos Town was fab to, we strolled around the small alleyways which were full of shops.
We rented a car for 3 days, Janet sorted it all out for us. 5 euro a night for air con, we didn't need it. The views from the back of the apartments are just as good as the front, it was like a picture postcard, we opened the front door & let the breeze rush through, very refreshing.
We drove up to the old town, took some photo's from a view point which were amazing, drove round the other side to the monestry. We couldn't drive to the caves, the road was treacherous. We tried to drive to Cava Paradiso & Mamma's aswell, but had to do a 3 point turn on a small ledge as the road was so bad. Phew!!
The pool area is very clean, Janet is very accommodating, Panos was a life saver driving us back up the hill every day at 6pm. Some restaurants will give you a list back up to the Pantheon at night if you ask them. Very handy indeed.

Kos is beautiful & I enjoyed my stay very much.
