We have to just keep returning to Kokalakis, its like coming back to stay with family, Nitsa and all the family and staff etc are just great, nothing is too much trouble. Great position across the road from the beach, easy access to great local restaurants, the hotel is spotlessly clean, nice rooms, great views, short trip from the airport, everything is so simple, relaxing, stress free etc - Thanks Nitsa for taking such great care of me and my badly infected mozzie bites - they get me every time - and thanks for making our wedding anniversary special. We have been to many Greek islands/mainland etc but Kokalakis at Kefalos is most definitely our favourite of them all! Make sure to check out Stamatia, Captain John, Argo, Srytaki restaurants, all good food, good position, lovely views, and say hi to Poppy at the Memory Cafe! We don't do trips, but you must do the sunset trip to Zia up in the mountains, it is gorgeous! If you know Kokalakis you will understand - if you don't know it, its about time you did!

Room Tip: Top floor sea facing rooms are best, but even rooms on the back overlook the mountains, so you can...

We visited in mid May, right before high season. The beaches and hotel were very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly! Recommend this hotel without hesitation. It is clean, comfortable, friendly, and has a delicious breakfast. The pool is quite nice as well, though we didn't spend a lot of time at it as the beach beckoned...

Yet another great holiday, always a great welcome by Nitsa and the family, each year they have improved the hotel but they don,t changed. The hotel is very central and as a lovely big pool and a smaller one for kids, both are always very clean also plenty of sunbeds. Nice poolside bar and prices not too bad. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. But it is the people who run the hotel that is the biggest attraction. Looking forward to next year.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Kokalakis for a week 17th-25th June 2012 and honestly dont have a bad word to say about the place!

It was our second time in Kefalos but the hospitality which we were greated with from the moment we arrived to the moment we left made our holiday all the more special and we cant wait to go back and stay at the Kokalakis next year with our family and friends for our wedding in Kos!

I will admit the hotel is basic, rooms are typical greek and i would aggree the bathroom could benefit from a shower curtain! But, compared to some places i have stayed in greece i'd say value for money is fab! There's a lovely pool area and bar to chill by in the day.. and the breakfast included in the BB price, although only a simple contenental breakfast of cereal, bread, eggs etc is enough to fill the gap until lunchtime.

Air con and fridge in the room is also a bonus, many BB's have no fridge- this was great for storing snacks/drinks from the big supermarket just over the road.

For anyone wondering about the location, its great! Its right in the middle of the resort, a short walk to all of the bars/restaurants in kefalos. Maria's restaurant and Santa Barbara are both only a 2 min walk from the Kokalakis and are both great value and excellent food- will definately return!

All in all, the hotel is typical greek, friendly and ran by a wondeful family Nitsa, Vasillis & their children. Kefalos is a only a small resort. its not a lively place but has a lovely chilled out beach (by the harbour as this is a sandy beach) and some great places to eat and drink!..

Kardamena is only a short drive away and we found great value car hire from Maria at the Acropol bar, another great place to go for breakfast/ lunch/ after dinner drinks!

Cant wait to go back!!

Just got back from a week in the Kokalakis with friends. This is a family run hotel and is as good as you will get in the Greek islands.

The rooms are the usual clean and tidy but basic accommodation you get in this part of the world at 25 Euros per day. Good wardrobe, fridge, double bed. The shower was always hot and very powerful but would benefit from a shower curtain to keep the rest of the stuff in the bathroom dry. There is a safe in the room for rent at 5 Euros for the week. Good air-con is available at 5 Euros per day. We took advantage of this but they chose to not charge us for it when we checked out which was a welcome surprise.

Breakfast is basic fare comprising of a small roll with butter & jam and a boiled egg together with tea/coffee and orange juice. Al served on the patio over-loooking the sea. The hotel also has a well-stocked bar in reception and another at the poolside with tables in the shade. The pool of of a good size and spotlessly clean at all times.

The family can't do enough for you.

I would recommend the hotel no problem
