“A Little Gem !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2014

Cerberus is quite local for us and we have been there a few times and have never been disappointed . The staff are lovely and the food is beautiful ,well presented and fairly priced. I always try to have special menu items in any restaurant and find it allows the chef to show their best work. Cerberus is beautifully located on the water so has a lovely view.
Weekend evenings you generally need to book but it's a lovely place for lunch too.

“Long long long wait and bad attitude ”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2014

Beautiful day in Melbs, they should have expected a good turn out. Had to wait 1 hr for fish and chips (not acceptable for a cafe/take away) and staff not friendly. Won't be back that's for sure :/

“Sea view, mellow guitar, tasty food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2014

Easy to book instantly online. $5 per hr car park. Picturesque setting in half moon bay. Friendly greeting and warm service throughout. Relaxing ambiance set by the serene view and enjoyable live music (1 singer guitarist). Sunday evening clientele was a mix of couples, families and a small group. Window tables rather romantic as the sun sets on the sea and red cliffs. Decor upstairs a bit cafe like but food lifts it well beyond cafe level. Spiced Barramundi absolutely superb, Sea Bream beautifully cooked, selection of desserts irresistible and unusual. There is a well-priced children's menu too.
Such good food and pleasant service make little matters like wobbly table, having to specifically request the children's menu, being given wrong bill, coffees coming after and not with desserts as requested, very easy to overlook. Great little restaurant which needs booking in advance, especially for those coveted window tables.

“Hard to beat this one for views”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2014

This place is everything that everyone in all the others have praised it for and then probably more. I defy you to find a place with a better coastal view, its in the bayside car park, looking at the red cliff faces, the water, the cerberus, the pier, and newport in the distance accross the water, and city views accross land and water, then there is the food

but first, parking is fairly easy to find, generally $5 per hour or $15 all day, the restaurant is easy to find, and very easy on the eye. A flight of stairs to enter ( and this may present a problem to some) but once inside the view is to die for, and the food is just a cut above most.

there are plenty of pictures on this site, and the menu is available on line too, the staff are great, dont think there could be a bad table in the place, some set for large groups and some for small, we shared a baked camembert, and then the seafood platter for two, with a drink each, and the total was $120, it not too hard to spend that sort of money in most pubs and this is so much better than a pub meal, or pub experience. Would love to come again

nb, there is also a fish and chip shop operating out of downstairs that seemed to be doing a roaring trade and the menu looked quite good and not too expensive

“Make sure you make a booking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2014

After four years living in Black Rock we thought it was high time we paid a visit to the Cerberus Beach House. It has always been well known for its take away first class fish and chips beach café (which we still haven't tried!) and the fact that you cannot just walk upstairs to the restaurant any time of the day and expect a table speak volumes about its popularity. We were not disappointed with very attentive service, a great menu and the quality of the food was excellent. The views out to Half Moon Bay are priceless and if possible try to time your booking for the sunset. It isn't the cheapest place in town but we'll be back and this time it won't take four years!

Dear PJL1952,

Thank you for your review, it is much appreciated.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your dining experience with us and look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit. Over summer feel free to pop down and have our delicious fish and chips on the beach - it makes for a perfect day or evening picnic.

Best regards,

The Cerberus Team.
