Downstairs there is a like a little fish and chip shop, but upstairs is the lovely Cerberus Beach House Restaurant. The décor is beachy, rustic and quant with lovely views over half moon bay.
Our group of four was attended to immediately. I had booked online requesting a table by the window and that was indeed what we got. A comprehensive drinks list instantly appeared and drinks orders taken. Drinks were subsequently quickly brought out. No fuss or bother. In the meantime menu’s were distributed and orders taken by a confident, friendly hostess.
We ordered garlic bread to start and a nice crispy portion each promptly appeared. An appropriate wait then entrée’s came out. A properly proportioned entrée of chilli, garlic and lime calamari was really delicious, and friends said their black tiger prawns were very good.
Another perfectly timed wait and our mains came out. I had the grass fed eye fillet that came with some polenta with mushroom in it and a bit of buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad, with a very tasty sauce. It was a nice size meal, well cooked, and I cleaned my plate. Hubbie had lamb backstrap and said not only was it yummy, the salad that came with it was great too, which is quite a compliment coming from someone that isn’t that hot on salad. The couple with us both loved their meals as well.
This was a busy Saturday night and at one stage noise levels rose as the smallish room filled and people ate, chatted and enjoyed themselves as the extremely competent staff unobtrusively looked after everyone in the room, the service really was so smooth and flowing, exceptional, making it all seem so easy and breezy.
Not cheap but not overpriced either this place is really a delight. I would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely be returning.
