We stayed here for 2 nights in March, when in the area for a family wedding. Recommended by the brides family, who we're staying here the night before the wedding. We arrived on the day in bright sunshine - always helps!! - and just thought what a beautiful setting it is. We only really had a glimpse of the rooms before we left for the wedding, but on our return I got into bed and literally let out a big sigh - the bed was like a cloud. In the morning we discovered a lovely supply of good coffee, tea and biscuits. A lovely large room, scrupulously clean , and very inviting. The bathroom you would want in your own house - big shower, hot towel rail and large fluffy towels. I took my coffee and sat outside in the early morning and it was like being in the french countryside - absolute quiet, just greenery and a red tile roof across the road. Breakfast was superb both mornings, one morning we had full cooked breakfast, the other we had the best scrambled eggs ever, and good coffee. We ate here in the evening and the food was fantastic - definitely not what you would expect from a little country pub! And everyone was very friendly.
I have been meaning to put a review on for months, but haven't got round to it. But was finally compelled to do so by spending a weekend in what you would consider a very good hotel, and comparing it VERY unfavourably to the Wheatsheaf in every aspect!
