A friend and I wanted to visit Floriade but didn't want to stay in a hotel. Redbrow Gardens suited the brief beautifully. We had a slight hiccup with our reservation which was easily fixed and after our visit to Floriade we arrived back at Redbrow to our lovely room and a bottle of wine. We were the only guests that night so took advantage of the kitchen available to us and enjoyed the gardens - more than we enjoyed Floriade, to tell the truth!

After a wander around the beautiful gardens, we drank our wine while we counted the kangaroos on the other side of the lagoon. We both slept well in the comfortable beds and enjoyed our breakfast the next morning, especially the homemade banana bread. Breakfast supplies are there for you to cook your own. The eggs come from the chooks that live on the property.

I would also like to compliment the owners on the foresight to have the family room close to parking and also the accessible bathroom in that room. Should be more of a selling point, I think :)

I would happily come back and stay here. It was an easy drive from Canberra proper but very relaxing and beautiful surrounds.

Room Tip: The family room is a good one - queen size bed and two singles. It also has an accessible bathroom...

It was a rainy Friday night during Canberra's winter, and my partner and I were looking forward to spending some away but the rain was starting to deter us. We arrived at Redbrow (late) and the hosts couldn't be more welcoming. The heaters were on in the lovely room and there was wine and some other snacks waiting. When we went David and Elisabeth were new, and they were so kind and generous with their time. We had freshly baked banana bread in the morning and were shown around the estate. Even though the weather was bad, we enjoyed touring the wine region and coming home at night to a fire in the communal area, more wine and some chess. The view is stunning to wake up to, very tranquil, and we're looking forward to our next stay.

Wonderful holiday with friends. The garden cottage was perfect for 6 girls meeting for the weekend. The rooms were extremely comfortable.
Fresh home made muffins delivered to the front door.
Beautiful grounds to wander thru, a fantastic bon fire at night to keep us warm.
We will return next year......

Thanks Lisa. Redbrow is an ideal get away for small groups and families, the flexibility in the accommodation and the beautiful grounds allow for as much together time or solitude as our valued guests wish. We thoroughly look forward to your next visit!

We have just spent a week exploring this place and have really enjoy it! Yes the decor could do with some upgrade but is clean and has all you could ever ask for. We spent the week with our 3 children 13, 11 and 1 as well as my partners parents who just loved the place. It is a 20-30 minute drive to Canberra but that really did not bother us. The new owners had just taken over and you could see the movement to get it nice and clean they were fab and friendly and there was nothing was problem !

The grounds were lovely, the lake was fun to paddle around and sit around and have a chat. Our 1 year old loved the animals and the older 2 enjoyed anything ! There is no Internet access but you can get it with a tiny walk to the car park. We stayed in the guest house and already planning our next trip.

We look forward to see what this place becomes. Thank you

We stayed here Three nights so got a rather good impression on the running of the place.
If you want a breakfast cooked for you this is not the place, provisions are supplied with a unclean communical kitchen for you to use. If you like cobwebs, over grown pathways this is the place for you.Location was good for travelling in and out of Canberra if you didn't mind a 20 min run.
We did love the log fire place and comfortable settees in the evening but the hosts never came to see us in the time we were there to chat. We got the feeling that they were tired of doing the B&B. The rooms were old and wornout. In fact the whole place looked tired......

We had a wonderful two days here at Redbrow. I had read the reviews so was prepared for a brusque reception. It was nothing of the sort, a cultural difference perhaps but I found Elisabeth to be polite and welcoming. We LOVED the house. I kept trying to work out what other reviews were going on about...we felt separate enough and just loved the space that the home provided. The log fire was an absolute treat and our 3 children 6,4 and 1 loved the map of the world on covering one entire wall. The kitchen was fantastic..the home may not be the most luxuriously appointed place i've ever stayed but it's just perfect for a family stay. The grounds are just delightful, to make a cuppa and go and sit by yourself on the dam is a treat i will never forget. David and Elisabeth took the time to sit and chat with my father who appreciated their warmth and conversation, not to mention the freshly picked organic apples. WE really wished we could have stayed longer. It was a wonderful short break and an easy hop into Canberra to see the relatives....and as for the poor mobile reception... What a treat !!!!. Thank you David and Elisabeth.

Redbrow Garden is an eco lodge set on beautiful grounds. The rooms are comfortable, clean and reasonably spacious, with a good ensuite. Stepping out the back door of the unit led us onto a grass verge overlooking the small lake which has a rowing boat moored on the shore. This is an ideal spot for wine and cheese before dinner. The gardens are beautiful and guests are regularly visited by a number of blue wrens. We have visited in different seasons. At the time of Floriade the gardens were a picture with fruit trees blossoming and the lake was beautiful. At the end of winter the gardens and lake were out of season but still spectacular. It is so peaceful, and we enjoyed spending time in the gardens looking over the water, watching the birds and listening to the frogs. Good BBQ facilities are provided and bacon and eggs are provided for guests to cook their breakfast in the kitchen. Overall a pleasant place to stay if you want to escape from the city.
