I am one of a group of friends who like a long country walk with a good pub lunch along the way. Research for a walk around Ivinghoe Beacon revealed the Red Lion, Dagnall but apart from a neat website I could find nothing about it.
We were very glad we gave the Red Lion a go. I had a chowder, followed by roast beef, all freshly and well cooked and presented. And very reasonably priced. The beer was from local breweries and is well kept. The landlord and staff are very friendly and welcoming.
It seems the pub is not well known because it had fallen on hard times, but the present owners, who have been there about a year, are working hard to build up the business.
