“Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

We often pop in for the pre cinema meal which is always delicious, or sometimes just have a glass of wine and dishes from the bar menu. Everything is always cooked fresh, arrives without too much of a wait and is always tasty. Sunday lunch is always good too - a little more expensive than most, but generally worth it.

“Classy, beautiful place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Stunningly beautiful restaurant and very good food. The pre-cinema meals are a bargain. We have eaten here at least ten times - mostly pre-cinema (see reviews of the Rex Cinema, which is upstairs - probably the best cinema in the country) and for special occasions, al la carte. Both represent value for money and the quality goes up for the a la carte menu, but you get what you pay for.

“Delicious food, 5* service, perfect ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We held our wedding reception here last June and I cannot compliment the owner Nick, the head chef Matt and all the staff enough. From our first meeting with Nick, to our food tasting (amazing) with Matt and the wedding day itself, we were offered 5* service with care and thought with every step of our planning. Matt helped us to put together the perfect menu for our guests and the food was absolutely amazing on the day, let alone all the food we tried at our tasting. We had 105 guests and each meal came out with the same care and attention as though they were cooking for two guests. The staff couldn't do enough for us and our guests, quick service at the bar and our guests were never without a drink or a canape. The atmosphere here is relaxed, and chic casual and you feel like you don't want to leave. Perfect and highly recommendable.

“Beautiful stylish restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

This was our third visit,in the last 3 years. The Art deco style is beautiful. The menu is not vast, but there are some unusual dishes. My meal was lovely, but my Partner was disappointed with his dish of guinea-fowl which he said was tasteless. But the evening was spoilt for us by the pianist. There was a beautiful white grand piano which should have added back-ground music creating a relaxing atmosphere.Unfortunately the pianist was dreadful. It was virtually impossible to work out what she was playing. It was awful-sounded like Les Dawson.I cannot understand why the management were not aware of her appauling playing. It was loud, intrusive and very painful on the ears.Ruined the evening.

“Classy, delicious food too.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We went here before visiting the Rex cinema. The pre-theatre menu includes a glass of wine and is good value. The quality of the food is very good. No complaints about the service. We will return.
