“Best Hostel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

Sunset Hostal is one of the best hostels I stayed in so far!
Very comfortable beds with warm duvets, satisfying breakfast is included, it is clean and located directly at the beachfront with a great view of the sunset. It also has a hot tub - perfect after a day of surfing (equipment can be rented and lessons are being offered). Everyone from the staff was super friendly and helpful.
All a traveller needs!

Really friendly place and great accommodations. The place looks brand new and has the best beds you'll sleep on while traveling. Service was awesome and owner is English speaking too. Really good breakfast too, definitely worth it to stay there.

Everything stated in the title. Eduardo was amazingly friendly and cares about his hostel. He does live upstairs. Missing kitchen facility in dorm area, but I'm sure he'd let anyone use upstairs facilities. Showers & bathrooms clean and new. Not too big, (3 dorm rooms of 4 very comfortable beds) in shared area. (I got a room to myself most of the time as the place wasn't too busy when I visited). Very, Very comfortable beds. Lockers that will fit any pack, but this was the type of place you really don't have to worry about that kind of thing, I left my stuff ontop of the locker almost the entire time and never worried once. Good security, front door locking and small so not a ton of people coming and going all the time. Great location, away from busy Centro, but close enough to walk or take the loaner bike to grab a bite or something from a market. Eduardo hooked me up with the inside scoop on a good Restaurant, sushi, and encouraged me to go out surfing with him which was the highlight of the trip, as I'm a beginner surfer at best, and I caught the first wave I went after! Was riding high that day. Will always stay at the sunset til I get my own place for vacation in Pichilemu.

Room Tip: Go to Waitara Club, even if the discotechs or clubs aren't your scene. Was a great spot. Punta d...

A terrific place to stay! Close to the beach and maybe a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of town and places to grab a drink and something to eat. Beds are comfy, breakfast was great and Fernanda and Eduardo are wonderful hosts! Will be back again soon!

Room Tip: Definitely rent a bicycle off the guys and ride out to playa punto de lobos!

This was such a great hostel we stay at during the fiestas Patrias in Pichilemu. Everything we could have asked for- it was right on the seafront, so fantastic views of the sea and sunset, walking distance to the centre of Pichilemu...In a quiet area but close to all the busy and exciting fondas, bars and restaurants. Very cosy relaxing place to come back to in the evenings- comfy beds, wood fires... The best thing about this hostel was the owner, Eduardo. He was so welcoming- our stay wouldn't have been the same without him- he showed us around the place, came horse riding with us, helped us get the fire going for our numerous BBQ, he is also the best pizza maker i know....between five of us we managed to eat a 1sq. metre homemade wood fire oven pizza- Delicious! Great breakfast in the mornings. All in all it was a perfect stay and I'll definitely be coming back for some surfing lessons and more pizza! Looking forward to the new additions to the house! Thanks alot, Millie.

This is a great place to come in the summer and spend the days surfing, kayaking or horse riding. All of which can be organised with the owner (who is exceptionally friendly).
I went off season and it was very quiet, but I enjoyed that and the weather made the beach even more dramatic.
The rooms are excellent and the beds are very wide and comfortable. There are locckers in the room and a wood fire that keeps the house very warm.
For me one of the highlights was the adobe wood fire oven out the back and the fact that the owner is an expert pizza maker! I am half italian and I can safely say that the pizzas were amazing!!
Worth a visit just for a night of pizza, wine and a walk down the beach!
