“Nice hotel, nice view from room, good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

It was a nice hotel, with free parking (in Melbourne this is a luxury). The room was on a higher level, with view on downtown skyscapers, was a nice view. Breakfast was quite expensive, so we decided not to take. The deck unfortunately was closed, but I personal allowed to take a photo. Personal was friendly and helpful.

Good - The room was nice.
Bad - Paper thin walls, curtains didn't cover widows & our heater was broken and they didn't fix it for our 3 day stay. FROZE TO DEATH : (

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

The rooms are tiny and the bathroom / shower is even smaller.
I suppose it is part of the price that we sacrifice size.

However one cannot possibly get sleep in a room where you can hear coughing (from 3 rooms away), talking in the corridor, doors opening, showers and taps being operated.

I could even hear my next door occupant shut his laptop!

The rooms are poorly constructed and would fail even the basic requirements of the Australian Building Code for noise abatement.

There are other dissappointing aspects with the room like tiny beds, showers directly over the crap pot etc - however the lack of sleep caused by cheap construction outweighs all the others by a country mile.

Give it a miss and stay at any cheap motel nearby. Bigger room, better sleep!

Room Tip: Avoid the standard rooms - The larger rooms have their own wing so maybe less occupants mean less di...

Dear Env 300

Thank you for your feedback, I am disappointed to read your comments regarding your experience at sleep and go and I am sorry that your stay with us wasn’t up to standards. I have addressed this issue and we currently working on making sleep and go a more versatile hotel to suit all guests. These rooms are a budget rooms that come with LCD TV, king single bed and Ipod dock, As for the construction of our rooms we have spoken to maintenance team and they have assured us that it has passed the Australian building code for noise abatement Thank you once again for you feedback as any feedback is positive for us at bell city .We hope the next time you stay with us it will be more comfortable one for you.

Kind regards

I stayed here for a week and from the moment I got there the staff were really approachable and very helpful with advise about the local area and transport.
It makes the world of difference when the staff are so kind.
The room was also great value for money, very clean and comfortable.
The location was good, close to the high street area and not long on the tram to get to the centre of Melbourne.
I would reccomend this hotel to anyone based mainly on the great staff.

Room Tip: the single en suite rooms are very comfortable

I ahve stayed here before in one of their budget rooms and once you got use to the toilet being inside the shower I was quite happy. This time I got one of their double bed rooms as the photo on the website looked spacious however my room is quite small and badly designed. There is no seals on the windows so their is a constant breeze coming through the window which I had to block with a towel. The air conditioning is locked onto cool only and there is no other heating. The bathroom light was broken. The hot water jug has to be used on the floor under the desk as there is no power points except on the floor. The bed quilt was only a thin blanket in a quilt cover and I had to double this over to keep warm. When I cehck in I was told that parking was $5 a day despite on their home page saying it was free. I had to point this out to them on my iPhone. Who charges for parking in a residential hotel??? They also charge a credit card surcharge if paying by credit card. I am a seasoned traveller and I stay in a whole range of hotels. being self employed I am tolerant of budget accomodation and the limitations associated but this hotel I think is just a bit too sloppy and stingey compared to the images it protrays on the website. If you don't have high expections these will be met.

Room Tip: Try another hotel if you are looking for a good room

Dear Squidspud

Thank you so much for your feedback. Management and staff are working hard to make each and every guest’s stay a pleasant one. We regret that your last stay with us was not up to standards. Sleep and Go are currently undergoing a face lift which means that all windows and seals at sleep and go are going to be replaced and all the rooms have undergone a full refurbishment. Regarding the parking we have recently updated all of our websites, unfortunately we must have missed 1 web site so we honoured complimentary parking for you stay . We hope that next time you stay with us it will be up to standards thank you once again

Kind Regards

Ridiculously long way out of town/absolutely nowhere near the airport.
Stale musty smell everywhere.
Tiny filthy rooms, didn`t want to even sit on the bed let alone sleep in it.
Room service....the most awful "meals" in a takeaway box with plastic cutlery.

I was informed on asking after a smoking room, that if I smoked in the room, there would be a $200 cleaning bill charged to our account. I was ALMOST tempted to do it, just so it would be cleaner for the next poor occupants.

Room Tip: Seriously, just don`t do it.

Dear Pat and Maria
Thank you for reviewing Sleep and Go. I am disappointed that the hotel location and room were not to your liking. Sleep and go is just 20 minutes from the Melbourne CBD and 20 minutes from Tullamarine Airport. These rooms are perfect for the budget-conscious traveller. The rooms are compact but all rooms feature private bathroom facilities, flat-screen TV and broadband internet access. Air conditioning is included, along with a microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. In regards to the room being filthy and the issue with room service both issues have been addressed and rectified. We appreciate your constructive feedback and hope to be able to host you again in the future.

Kind Regards
