“Overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

The first impression was positive. Great decor with prompt service. We decided to order the mud crab - costly mistake. $72 for an average sized crab. The soft shelled crabs and calamari were lost in thick batter. Overall not recommended for dinner.

“Nice place for Yum Cha”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2011

Went to Gold Leaf for yum cha last Tuesday as part of a family outing. The place is really nice, with nice furnishing, very oriental and the staff are all dressed nicely. The food was good with a nice mixture of the old favourites and something new as well. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the price is ok for what we had. The only downside is the parking...there's not a lot of parking around the back of the restaurant....there's lots of 1 hour parking for free but you can't really enjoy yum cha for only 1 hour. Apart from that it has been an excellent yum cha.

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Found this restaurant through trip advisor and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The entrance is off the street a little and up a level ( there is a lift) so don't be put off if you can't see the front door right on High St. Food was tasty and the waiter very helpful in suggesting dishes to try. We will be back.

“My favorite yum cha restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2011

Very good food there, and the price is ok. I just live nearby, me and my wife go to the restaurant nearly every week. Good service too!

“Great Dim Sum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2010

Great variety of very tasty dim sum - some of the best we've had, including China and Hong Kong. The traditional presentation on carts makes it easy to make selections without knowing the name of each items and go ahead - be adventurous...
We came on a Sunday soon after the restaurant opened at 11am and had no problem getting seated, but it gets very busy soon after and there was a line around noon.
Great find in Melbourne!
There is parking on the street, but also behind the building near the Preston Market.
