“Anniversary getaway”

We had a wonderful, relaxing time in the Colchester room, which shares a spacious jacuzzi bathroom. Breakfast was first class and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. Would recommend this B&B to anyone!!

Four Bell descendants, some with spouses, returned to Oxley after over half a century to locate former family homes, explore the area, and relive childhood memories. For two nights, we took over Bell House Bed & Breakfast, first owned by Harry and Clara Bell, the third generation to live in Oxley. Harry's parents, Charles and Adelaide lived next door to them in the still standing Nutwood, now owned by Maguire's friends Helen and Paul.
Vera and Grant could not have provided the group a better time. They are helpful in accommodating a variety of needs and made everyone feel welcome in their home. The rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable. Vera's breakfasts are a tour de force. and she is helpful making suggestions for local restaurants for dinner (Meadows by the Lake is a traditional roadhouse serving superb perch) and ideas for local activities (the drive to Amhurstburg is well worth while, including the sight of hundreds of swans on a large reservoir). She even arose to a special request to put on a special dinner at the B&B for an expanded group of eleven, providing an elegant multi-course meal.
All in all, Vera and Grant are excellent hosts, running a first rate B&B.

Happy guests.

Vera and I were delighted to host the descendents of the original Bell Family that lived in the hamlet of Oxley and our home many years ago.

This inn is the hidden gem along the northern Lake Erie shoreline in southern Canada. My wife and I were seeking a pleasant, one-night getaway after an intense few months of work. Look no further than the amenties and pleasant hosts at the Bell House Bed & Breakfast. Vera and Grant were wonderful hosts who wanted to find every way possible to accommodate us. Their reception upon our arrival made us feel like we were royalty with afternoon tea and tarts. We stayed in the Colchester Room which had a separate bath/jacuzzi tub area. Our hosts' attention to detail was impecable and there was nothing more we could have asked to make our stay perfect. After a complete three-course breakfast with all of the extras, I do not believe we had to worry about lunch or dinner later in the day!

The location is in close proximity to dozens of wine vineyards which made our tasting excursion all the more memorable. This is definitely a great base of tasting operations for any wine connoisseur or connoisseur in training. Be sure to check out the Coopers Hawk Winery just 10 minutes away. The selection of white and red wines at this location was amazing when considering the winery recently opened in November of 2011.

This location is a perfect escape for anyone traveling or seeking a brief respite from life's hustle and bustle.

Room Tip: Two of the three rooms have a shared bath area. This was not a problem for us since the second room...
