“Becoming one again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

It is a Gothic-slyle fortified church, located in Biertan. It is one of the largest and best-know in Trasylvania and it is also a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE.

Worth visiting the curious marriage tower, where couples willing to divorce were locked together in a cell and forced to share every: one spoon, one chair, one bed (no knifes!… till they became one again.

“Attractive History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

The fortified church is well preserved. I liked the multitude of interesting facts that you could discover: complex locking, divorce room, flags history, clown, etc.

“Fortified church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Highly interesting and well maintained. The inner wall is a series of rooms that are numbered and correspond to the number on a village home. During times of war people would simply come to their room which would have everything they need inside already. It is the best example of a fortified church that we saw.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

A bit of a walk up the stairs to this beautiful and historic fortress/church. Well worth it however. The views are amazing, the buildings appear to have been restored really well.

“Well preserved medieval fortified church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

The church itself is in perfect state, there's a German bookshop inside, great titles and lots of maps and tour guides to buy at great prices.

The central square is clean and nice, and the houses look great.

It's a nice place to visit, it almost feels like it hasn't changed a bit in a hundred years.

There is not much to do, only a restaurant and a small kiosk where you can buy ice cream.
