“Beautiful view,peace, relaxation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

I visited the hotel two weeks ago. It is located near the Vidraru dig, on the Transfagarasan road. It is a little difficult to reach, so it's good to have a map, otherwise it will take unthil you get the right direction. The hotel is isolated from any city, restaurant, so if you want to spend a few days away from the noisy world, in a clean, nice, quiet place, than this is the perfect location for you. The hotel has one indoor swimming pool, tennis court. The food is good, rooms are very clean, the view is to the lake, with big balcony. Near the hotel are lots of dogs, so you are not allowed to be afraid. It has a big terrace with lake view. If you want to spend more days here, I would suggest to do it in the summer, because the altitude of the hotel is very high, and therefor it was a little bit cold to climbing.

As we came in the receptionist was very friendly and showed us to our room wich was nice prepared. All clean and tidy, with good design and well heated. The bathroom had a bit of a glitch regarding the shower but it was a minor thingy. The food was not at it's culinary peak...the cook was not in but they managed to please our taste, especially with the palica, great! Now of course comes the spa wich was great with a nice pool with water flow so u can swim non stop, a clean jacuzzi and a nice dry sauna. Thanks !

Quality of service in the restaurant in very poor. The location is nice and rooms are ok, but the restaurant stuff is the worst I have seen in years.it was a flashback of comunist times. If you are goint there just to sleep , than do it without any problem, but don't get in the restaurant as you will come out pissed off.

I ve been there with a bunch of friends and we were all Totaly disapointed.Mainly because of the staff and the mediocre food.
The location Is esquisite and the overall efforts for a nice place are visible but the staff cannot handle the guests at all...

The hotel has an excellent location, but the management and the stuff is poor. Still the same mentality of paying one person to do the work of 10 persons...
The hotel is new,the room are big but the problems are with the cleaning and the restaurant.
The cleaning is done by one person or 2...,they did not change the soap or towel ,even if they were down, they did not take the plates from the room service...
the girl from the reception has to do lots of work, even to watch the swimming pool, the bowling,to provide the net for the tennis field..
the food in the restaurant is poor: the patatoes are frozen, the rice is hard, the pancakes arew made in the morning ..if u order the in the evening u receive rubber...
the swimming pool is ok,landscape is wonderful...
still they need to improve the services, otherwise they will loose.
also i recomand to go during the week, not weekend. We met some noisy clients, listening music loudly all night long.

The main (problem) for me and my colleagues, was the stuff; especially the girl from reception... very 'unfriendly'.
The location it's really great and it's really close to Balea lake, and the spectacular Transfagaraseanu road.
Another issue was the football filed, which was near the chimney ... and was full of smoke, pretty horrible experience. The rooms are not 4 stars, but ok let's say.
The game area (two bowling traks, one ping-pong table and one pool table) it's closed at 22:00 ...
Overall ... I could say that it depends on each person how it finds the hotel. This was just my feeling for a two nights staying for a company team-building.

Room Tip: upper floors have best view

We discovered the hotel on our way to Balea Lac. The view is amazing, the room is spacious, we had no problems with the bathroom or other, such as mentioned in the other reviews. The staff is very nice and friendly, we even had food served after the closing time of the kitchen. The breakfast is reach. I would also mention a good price quality ratio.

Room Tip: go for the lake view rooms
