“Great weekend in a magnificient location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

We stayed in the hotel for one night only (unfortunately, next time we will definitely stay longer) and enjoyed a great accomodation, amazing landscape and great services. The staff was friendly and not at all pushy, this is what made us feel at ease during our stay. We were accomodated in room 207 and the view in the morning was asthonising!

The pool, jacuzzi and sauna have great view above Lake Vidraru. The trout we had for dinner was deliciously prepared and brought to us very fast.

Definitely a memorable experience!

Room Tip: Rooms with view on the lake are amazing - all of them anyway are quite and stylish.

We (a group of 22 people) have celebrated a New Year 2012 in this very nice Hotel- VALEA CU PESTI! We have stayed there during the period between 29.12.2011 up to 02.01.2012. The rooms are very spacious and nice decorated, the furnitures, beds etc. are new and very nice, the bathrooms are big enough and very cleaned, everything is new and all the materials and equipment are new and high class...The food was very good all this period. The shows which took place during every evening were very animated and original...The waiters were very nice and carrefully with us all the time...We had visited Vidraru Lake travelled by a ship from the hotel up to Vidraru Hotel (Vidraru Hydro Power barrage/dam), we had visited Capra Area which is situated very close to Balea Lake..We kindly recomand this very nice hotel to other tourists which want to visit these nice places/mountains etc.

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice

We’ve visited the hotel in Sept 2011, 1 month after opening and our experience with it was very bad. To start with positive things, we’ve stayed in room 109 and the room was spacious fairly clean and had a great terrace with great view. The bad things were that the terrace wasn’t private (shared with other rooms without any separation), the toilet was not properly cleaned, the shower head did not have a stand so you could not take shower while standing up and the water in the bathtub did not drain properly so at the end of the shower you were standing in a pool of dirty water. On top of that the TV remote did not work so we could watch only one channel. This is about the room but the worse is still to come. We had the worst experience with the service. We’ve arrived for breakfast at around 9.30 and by 10 o’clock we didn’t receive any food. After few more minutes of waiting I have received the food shown in the image attached (I asked for a plate of meet and cheese), unbelievable for a 4 stars hotel. I have to mention that the hotel was fairly empty; around 10 people were taking breakfast at that time so there is no excuse. Other tourists had same experience with the breakfast, long wait, cold food… To add to this bad experience, the spa was not included in the price, it was offered at extra HOURLY price. I can say I will not return here soon, maybe after they completely change their staff…

This hotel a bit away from the city, about 40 km north of Cutrea De arges. We were pleased with the room, not too big but clean and looked new. All the rooms have balcony with wonderful view. The dining area is nice to enjoy view but the food is I would say barely ok. They didn't have soup even though it was on the menu. We were reaxed and happy with the room after a long drive but around 11 pm in the night there was a big party going on in the main floor. Our room was on the secon floor. It was impossible to sleep with the loud music going on and we hoped it will be over by mid night. It was past 1:00 am in the night and the music was still on along with loud laughter of the crowd. When my husband called the manager he said he is going to try to turn down the volume. The volume went down after a while but people were talking so loud we had to call second time and around 2 pm the noise stopped and we were finally able to sleep somewhat peacefully rest of the night. What I failed to understand is how could the hotel management let a group of people play loud music in the middle of the night when the other guests can't sleep!! In the morning the manager was apologetic and said he also had hard time sleeping in the night. Any way other than this issue, the hotel can be a very nice stay if you like to be in the midst of monuntain. This hotel is also very close to Pionarie Fort a famous tourist attraction.

Valea cu pesti is located on the magnificent transfagarasan, directly adjacent to Vidraru Lake. Probably all rooms offer spectacular views on the lake. We visited on the opening night after renovation. Rooms are spacious and stylish, food was good. Due to its recent opening
some minor construction points have to be solved (balcony door
does not fully open,
Waterpressure on tap too low, one
lamp switch not attached). Surely a
good start for a promising place!
And the views are among the best
we have seen. Hotel has free Wifi.
