The food at Il Garfagnino is fantastic & authentic and the portions are ample. The wait staff's temperaments have varied over my many visits, yet the quality of the food has stayed consistently wonderful.
While attending a friend's birthday party there during the winter, my boyfriend and I decided to split an antipasto for two before continuing on with our second course. We were pleasantly surprise to find the antipasto was MORE than enough for the both of our meals as the wait staff continued to bring dish after dish of delicious, home cooked delights. One that stood out most was "nonna's recipe" meatballs. They were by far the tastiest most wonderful meatballs I have ever had in my entire life. After raving over them for the rest of the dinner, I asked the waitress if it would be possible to get the recipe. Five minutes later, an elderly lady around 80+ years came out of the kitchen and hand wrote her secret recipe for me! Just an enchanting, warm and welcoming local eatery in the always beautiful Garfangana region.
