We've been going to this restaurant for 35 years from Kanata and its still our favourite! We have gone together, with family, with friends or alone, always a treat!

“Fair food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Food here is hit or miss. Either it is very good or it is awful. The roast beef can be good and the liver is tender. Stay away from the curried chicken - it is a disaster. Brends the server is alway cheerful and is able to serve a large group efficiently. A good place for a complete 3 course meal at affordable prices.

“Great western sandwich and breakfast, nice counter conversation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

We stopped here for a small supper meal (Western sandwich and blueberry pie) and again for breakfast the next morning (egg white omelet, and big breakfast special). The view of the marina and grain elevator made for good dinner conversation, having seen it for the 1st time. The guys at the breakfast counter were very helpful in directing us on the best motorcycle route to Peterborough. The breakfast waitress could use a bit of class, hasn't she ever heard of someone wanting one egg white omelet before?? She treated me as if I had two heads.

“Prices are reasonable but quality of food is poor because it tastes as though it has been reheated by microwave.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2011 via mobile

As a Roadside Diner this restaurant requires a major update. The decor is worn and tired. Though portions are generous, meals lack taste and quality. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Burger and suspect that the chicken had been reheated in the microwave from a frozen precooked state. (How can chicken taste so watery and cold when cooked fresh?) The extensive menu one is given to order from, casts additional suspicion on the quantity of food that is pre-prepped. There was definitely nothing Cajun in taste. The burger amounted to little more than a slippery, sloppy mess. The fries that came with the burger were crispy but tasted odd. Service was adequate. The restaurant's clientele appears to be mainly faithful locals.
