“Quaint Village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

Sirince is a quaint little village worth visiting if you have the means to get there (car or bus from Selcuk). It's quite small so no need for a lot of time, but make sure you wander around the village and try to get off the main track pathway. It's very touristy with shops on every corner, but there are some hidden local gems (stores, restaurants) that feel authentic. Lovely to see the Greek influence as well as the women cooking bread on an open stove. Try the local wines as well. If you can do it, rent a moped from Selcuk and take the windy road uphill to the town. Lovely views as well as nice points of interest (food stands, pensions, and restaurants) if you want to stop on the way.

“Avoid rainy weather, prefer fall/spring”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

Yes, it is a village but as you plan your trip to Selcuk and environs (possibly Selcuk proper, the House of Virgin Mary, and the ancient city of Ephesus) i recommend you to ascribe Sirince no less than 2hrs. (And since it offers a lot for photographers, afternoon constitutes the best interval for those 2hrs [since it has some elevation, early morning can be a little bit chilly])
Because it lies on 2 (?3) hills, roads can be so steep -- wear trainers, don't bring strollers.
Since there are lots of shops going into the center of the village, don't hurry to buy smthng from the first shop you see. Prices either for souvenirs or food/drinks are very well. (For example a tea is 1 lira, a coffee is 2-3 liras.)
I recommend to have "gözleme" as a snack. An ayran or tea is recommended to accompany it.
And the wine... There are local producers and sellers affiliated to several houses trying to have you taste their wine. Their insistence and the resulting inconvenience cost Sirince one star from my grading.
By the way, i wrote Jul2014 here just to register since it is obligatory. I visited Sirince at least four times from Jul2013 to Jul2014. Whenever i have guests from abroad, i take them here and they almost invariably like it.

“Go beyond the tourist zone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

Sirince is a quaint little village, a short distance from Selçuk. Would recommend a short half day trip there as it is rather small place. However, it does have its unique charm with much wine tasting.

The whole area has been catered towards tourists, hence expect many handicraft stores and touting as you cross some restaurants.

However, if you veer off the beaten path into the residential areas, the village's original charm can still be felt. Though the place is hilly, the short hike is worth the effort!

“Delightful village”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

Traditional small market village. Best to go early or late to miss the day trippers. The market and the shops offer a good range and it is photogenic to say the least.

Scenic and relaxing, just enough bustle to enjoy without being too crowded; great food and friendly people
