We rented the off property farmhouse. Charming! Perfect for two parents and two kids. Lots of room. Got in late at night so didn't realize our setting. Woke up to beautiful views from every window, the sound of a faraway rooster and, of course, the call to prayer. Emre was our host, came to pick us up to take us to the main property whenever we called. I thought this off site set up would be a pain, but it turned out to give us the privacy, quiet, and country side views we loved and the pleasure of spending as much time as we wanted at the main property - only five minute drive away.
Breakfasts delicious and very complete, pool beautiful and very clean, property full of peach, fig, olive trees. Luca the dog was a big hit with my son. Chickens, rooster, horses, peacocks and ducks made the place unlike any we'd stayed in before! The place is a family affair and we were made to feel like part of the family. My son especially loved Emre, our host. My husband and I stayed up drinking Raki and chatting with Emre one night. Let Emre help organize your tour guide. We felt like we'd paid too much for ours, although it was definitely good to have a guide here. Emre made our stay special. The hammock, the pool, and an afternoon snack made us happy to head 'home' after the day's sites. Also, the village is very very close to the property and so let us split up and head into the village for some shopping. We found the best prices - rugs, tablecloths, souvenirs, backgammon sets, etc - to be here in Sirence village (compared to Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Kas). We felt very comfortable leaving the kids on property with Emre if we wanted to go back to the village for something. Give Emre some notice that you'd like to have dinner here, and you'll find the best food for dinner here too. We wish, after trying a couple of village restaurants that came very recommended, that we'd just eaten at Stonehouse each night. Added bonus - kids felt so at home that they could wander and explore while my husband and I sat and enjoyed a relaxing dinner.

This is a great place from which to see Ephesus, Mother Mary's house, etc. We could have stayed MUCH longer with Emre, but two nights is really all you need to cover all the sights and shopping in the area. Stay an extra day just to relax, read in the hammocks or in one of the little nooks tucked away here, and enjoy time with this family if you can. Even the kids asked why we weren't staying longer :-)

The brochure says its a magical place, and it certainly is!!

The Stonehouse was one of the best hotels I ever stayed. Not because of the luxury, no bathrobes, no slippers, no whole array of complementary beauty product, no bubble bath, no mini bar. In nothing this hotel resembles the supposed luxury of the bigger chain hotels. Instead the Stone house offers you an attentive and personal approach. In the midst of a beautiful garden of peach and olive trees overlooking the arcadic hills around Sirince this old Greek wine farm is transformed to a small boutique hotel.

This is a belated review but I wanted to share our amazing experience at the Stonehouse. We were there to explore Ephesus with our then 3 year old son. Simply too short. While the owners were not there, there was a friendly housekeeper who made yummy breakfast and her own goat cheese from the household goats. She didn't speak English really well, but we were able to communicate as best as we could. While we were there, the other guests were just leaving and so we had the run of the farm home for 2 whole days. And did we enjoy! The beautiful serene flower garden, gorgeous pool and deck, and the household pets - goats, turkeys, hens, dogs, horse, kittens who kept my son busy, and surrounded by vineyards....The location was perfect for a stroll into the tiny village and a bite to eat.
