“Worst resort experience!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

We were charged P780.00 for a lost towel we didn't even received physically!!! We asked them kindly to check their inventory but they insisted that it will be a long process for them to account all the towels.

The aircon in the room was not enough for the family loft, although they have an exhaust fan, it was very loud once we turned it on. As a result our companion had a hard time sleeping since it was very hot in the attic.

One companion observed that the beddings were not changed. They only removed the small particles on top of the beddings.

One of their staffs informed us that last year there were two guests who were drowned and died in their swimming pool. Their were no lifeguard present in the pool premises at night.

Room Tip: Go to Bahay Bakasyunan instead!

My opinion some over priced comparing room standars and general condition, Aircon in our room was really noisy and bathroom renovated maybe 15 years ago? Whole restaurant and pool areas is smoking free what sounds so unfamiliar in Philippines? But Camiguin is so safe and relaxing island what made our short stay again so unforgettable memorance.

We are 4 persons to stay in a family room that is good for 6pax so the room is spacious for us. Complete toiletries and nice bed to sleep. There is hot and cold shower and cable for TV. If you are bored, there are billiards, table tennis and ping pong to play. Swimming pool is 4ft, not good for taller men. Nice place, very relaxing. I haven’t encounter to speak with the staff but according to my friend, one of the front desk is rude, (I guess he is gay). The food is great!

I stayed here when we went to Camiguin last Thanksgiving. The place is the number 1 hotel in Camiguin Island. It has the clean rooms and very comfortable beds. I like the bed so much because the moment you lay down, you will definitely fall asleep. They have nice swimming pool and restaurant.

They also have Paras Sea Cat (ferry) that is faster than any Ferries going to Camiguin Island. The ferry is located at CDO Macabalan Port and it's about 30 minutes from the CDO Airport.

You can also check out their website for more info http://www.parasbeachresort.com/
and my blog at shanen10.blogspot.com for more information on my own itinerary.

Initially, I reserved for a cottage room good for 12 pax but 2 of my friends backed out of the trip so we opted for the family loft. I've seen the cottage room and family loft and they're both nice. Although I recommend the cottage room for big groups. The family loft is nice but the floor needs to be repainted and our bathroom smells like sewage. Although the other family loft's bathroom where my friends are staying doesn't have the same issue as we had our bathroom. But overall, the resort is nice and food is okay. We availed of their group package that includes: roundtrip to and from benoni port, breakfast, trip to white island, welcome drinks and lei which is very affordable.

The pool is clean and the hotel staff is friendly. I would recommend this resort to my friends.

When booking they were speedy with their responses difference in time made no difference and they were helpful with information, this continued with staff on the desk. However, service in the restaurant was poor and let their colleagues elsewhere down overall. None of the restaurant staff speak any English and even trying to order tea and toast at breakfast was a chore. They didn’t even understand the word butter. I know I know no Thai, but then I’m not serving people the majority of whom speak it! Was tiresome.

The food was dire. Portions small, luke warm food and just tasteless yuk. Only white bread for breakfast not enough butter and not really toasted. Tasteless. Nowhere around has good food really. The Italian was okay although not everything on the menu was available.

Room was okay and cleaned regularly. We spent a fair bit of time here as it rained the whole time we stayed there! Bed comfortable to watch telly for long periods! Compared to other places around it was okay value. The pool was ok. The view may have been good but as it rained the whole time I couldn’t really comment!

On their website you can see the rooms over looking the pool. We had the middle one. I don’t know if the prices are correct on their website or if they have gone up significantly (I am writing this in 2012!) We paid 2800 PHP per night for aforementioned room. Our room looked like the ocean room one on the website but there are more than 2 and we didn’t have complimentary tea/coffee, kettle, robes, water or toiletries but then we didn’t pay 4000PHP either. It certainly isn’t worth that even with the “complimentary” stuff! It was okay value compared to other places at 2800.

The pool was good. Clean.

No beach at all but then you know that when you go there. We didn’t get to the White beach – it wasn’t worth risking the weather when we went! The boat that takes you over I remember thinking was overpriced and you need to make sure a few of you are going to make it cheaper.

Taken nearly a year to get round to writing this review and odd to see people raving about the food in November. Maybe the chefs have changed and the restaurant staff?!

Not the best but not the worst. Food terrible.

Room tip – check the website prices – they can’t possibly all be right. Do not pay 4000PHP for the standard room, it was only just worth 2800 because of prices elsewhere. Might be worth asking a bit more about this place on the forum. Maybe someone knows of change of ownership or why November was suddenly good!

Room Tip: check the website prices – they can’t possibly all be right at time of writing this (Jan 2012). Do n...

We just arrived from a 3 days 2 night stay at Camiguin, more particularly Paras Beach Resort, and I must say we really enjoyed our stay here. As commented by the other reviewer in this site, the staff in the hotel were nice/cordial/helpful, wanting to assist in every way they can. They are also quick to address your concerns. This hotel is like 5 minutes or so away from the white beach where my family really had fun too. I must also add that their food in this hotel is also very good...quite unlike most hotels outside the metropolis. For a change, the food here was value for money. Yummy but reasonably priced and the servings are just right. The beds were also good, and the pillows were soft/fluffy, just the way we want it. In addition, there are a number of activities one can do here, they even have billiards, and the nice swimming pool. If we ever get the chance to go back to Camiguin, we'd definitely go back to this place. HIghly recommended.

Room Tip: We got the amihan room, with one king size and a single bed.
