“Great Family Holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2009

We stayed for a week during February. Upon arrival we were a little dissapointed as the rooms were smaller than other resorts we have stayed in and they are beginning to show their age and could do with a revamp. After the initial dissapointment we hit the pools which were fantastic. Having two young children (4 & 2) the pools were perfect. The position of the resort is pretty good. Surf Club across the road (meals average) and a good little Italian Restaurant (Capones) just down the road. Not far down the road to Shopping Centre. We would probably return simply because of the pools.

We stayed at the Alexandra beach resort for four nights over a weekend for a wedding we were attending at buderim.
The rooms here are nice with kitchen and amenities really helpful - we didn't cook anything but if we were here longer we definitely would have used it.
The TV is simple - no dvd players here which is a bit disappointing but I guess your not planning to stay in the room much however at night this can get abit boring if there is nothing on television.
The pools are wonderful here - alot of area to use.
However the main reason we booked this resort was to take advantage of the pool bar which in the four days we were there was never open. When we asked why they said it was because they were still on Winter Time - In November ???? As a young couple without children - we wanted to take advatange of the sun and some cocktails however we felt that this resort was really devoted to families with children.
We wouldn't stay here again without children.

Having just returned from a weeks holiday at the resort and not having had any pre concieved expectations i was and am happy and content with all that was on offer. The staff were polite , room was clean an tidy the kitchenette has a 2 ring hotplate ,bar fridge and a dishwasher. A washing machine an clothes dryer are also provided. As for the bathroom all was clean with a hairdryer to boot. The lagoon was wonderful and picturesque, the spas on either end lovely, the only thing that the resort doesn't have is a shallow pool for the younger/smaller kids. I would gladly recommend this resort to anyone and will return there in the future.

We stayed here two years previous but in a one bedroom. After a fantastic stay we stayed again in a 2 bedroom. Our children were 4 and 18 months. Two pools were heated and the two spas. We loved that it had its own pools/playground/bbqs and was handy to the Sunshine plaza, beach, aquarium and local eateries. Some of the surrounding ones looked great but with no onsite entertainment for children. I loved dthe landscaping and thought it was paradise.

  • Liked — pools and spas/playground/bbq
  • Disliked — our apartment was facing the main road which we could hear at night

The resort itself was very nice and the pools and spas were fantastic.

The problem is the rude, unhelpful staff. We stayed for two nights and on the second night came home in the evening to find that our room keys did not work. There was nobody at reception, so I phoned the resort.

I was informed that someone would come to our room with more keys. After 20 minutes and no keys I phoned again to be told that I had to go to reception and pick them up. When I got there the person did not apologise for the inconvenience and was in fact very rude to us.

I would not stay at this resort ever again.

BEWARE!! This place has the worst customer service i have ever come across, and we dont expect much from an apartment based resort anyway. Booking made 6 months in advance and included christmas day. Asked them to call when they knew the prices for their xmas lunch (restauant within the resort). We called every month or so, and were promised "soon we will know". One week out I call again and they tell me they wont be open xmas day due a function. 3 other families had booked with us, all excited about not having to cook xmas day (for once), and we didnt want to eat elsewhere, as there were 5 children beween us (3 of them under 14 months). It seemed so perfect to be able to eat "inhouse" and put them down for a nap if needed etc. Anyway, they took no responsibility, saying the restauant was privately owned (thanks for telling us), would not let us cancel without taking a 50% deposit. They sold this this to me and mentioned "their" restaurant as a selling point and even advertised it on their website as their restaurant, but suddenly pass the buck when something went wrong.
This was some time ago, so maybe they have learnt their lesson, but I was disgusted with their "who gives a stuff" kind of attitude. You should have heard the complainng around the pool on xmas day, we were not the only ones, having to pick up food from Coles.(everywhere else booked anyway) The restaurant is pool side within the resort, and would you believe the owners themselves had booked it out for a family get-together. (another staff member told me).
Rooms ok, good sized terrace balconies if you book these rooms,(old fashioned furniture) great aircon, beds not comfy, portacot hired but had no mattress (thats the way they come they tell me), pool amazing, kids loved it, but cold. Would never go back, thank god for the pool.
