“Beautiful palace and park full of sculptures and pavilions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

325 meters long facade of this palace was created by Rastrelli and is similar to the Winter Palace in nearby St. Petersburg. Entrance fee is charged for park entry and separately for the palace. Independent tourists are admitted only during limited time slots so you need to queue early or take organized tours from St. Petersburg. Excessively embellished amber room is one of the highlights of the palace, which has been painstakingly restored after heavy damage incurred during WWII.

“Worth a wedding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

If this park and palace were good enough for the tzars, it's certainly perfect for me. My wife and I got married here, and according to everyone in attendance, this was the most spectacular wedding setup they've ever been to. The pavilion on an island is accessible via rope pulled ferry, and has the best and most romantic music concerts most of the year.

“pure gold!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

This was amazing. We couldn't believe this palace, both inside and out. Pictures just don't do it justice. We got to go to the Grotto and hear 6 Russian singers performing folk songs.

“Catherine's Palace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

Magnificent, elegant palace with literally hundreds of opulent rooms - artwork, gold, and, of course, the amber room. We had to wait to get in, and it was very crowded, but it was spectacular - a must-see.

“Magnificent splendor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

When you first peer thru the gates at the entrance to this palace you see blue and gold with statues in a brilliant front garden. Enter the palace and there are gold adornments everywhere. A room base on amber. Dining rooms with crockery. Absolutely amazing. The gardens too. Catherine the Great was some smart lady in more ways than just being a leader.
Her taste for luxury and the approach she took was remarkable.
The palace is outside St. Petersburg, in a suburb now. Ideally do this with a driver and a registered tour guide ..so you get priority entrance otherwise you may have to wait and wait.
Great value.
