“a meaningful bridge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

I have found out from the locals that San Juanico bridge was a genuine idea of the late President Marcos who they have designed it to be "LS" which means, Leyte and Samar for it thus connects Leyte and Samar. It was very interesting because you would only notice the S form of the bridge and thought that maybe it would be only done just for tourism or for it just to look better than the ordinary bridge (which is straight), who would think that it has a better meaning. :D

“At first thought, its just a bridge, but ......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2012

I am sure there are many like me that would think, "so what? a bridge". Its not the Golden Gate, its not Tower Bridge, its not Sydney Harbour Bridge. The sweeping curve design of it, and the view from it as you travel over, does make it more than just a bridge. Make sure you get your driver to go as slow as they can so you can experience it as much as you can. Dont worry about the armed security, they are not there to worry you. If you're in Leyte, go see it.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

The size is breathtaking. A trip over it is a must. We hired a car for 1500pesos which took us from our hotel to the bridge and then accross the other side of town to the Macarthur monument. Whilst it is only a bridge, knowing that it is the longest bridge in the Philippines gives it some clout! I loved that our driver just stopped at the top and let us get out for pictures.. very funny!
