“Best for skiing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2010

It is very friendly for winter sports. Good pool. Food was OK+. A little bit too expensive at drinks.

Arrived at this hotel to find I was overwhelmed with smoke in the entire building. A reservation was booked for 3 people to share to have a triple room. I been one of those had to carry my bags up a dirty elevator and into a room with only one double bed. My bed was a pull out sofa and again greeted by heavy smoke. A room too small for 3 people where 2 of us had to stay on the bed whilst the other passed to unpack his bag. A quick complaint would surley sort this out-but not to be. It was a case of shut up and put up ! Ahh did I mention a relaxing night sleep with a constant barking dog beside us.
Dinnear time. Im left sitting at the side of the table were people had to pass and I had to move and shift every time someone wanted to go through. Food is pretty basic.
The swimming pool is full with kids and no place to unwind without a dog or a child or a cigarette in your face.
We were a group of 6 people and we were miles apart split into 2 groups at breakfast and dinnear times.
Not happy with this and not much help or aid from our rep or staff at this hotel we moved to another hotel.

First of all, do not confuse this hotel with the Trend Resort hotel which has just opened 200 yards away!
This hotel is a little gem; although part of a chain of hotels, it does not have the ‘corporate’ feel that many such hotels would have. Don’t expect to hear many English voices; there were only three other English-speaking families there at the same time as us. Not many restaurant staff speak English, but are very friendly and helpful.
The room we occupied was looking a bit tired (a couple of small stains on the carpet and slightly worn furniture) but this didn’t distract from the homely feel of the whole place. The bed was an ‘Austrian double’ – a double base with two single mattresses – but the mattresses were 3’6” wide, which made a 7’ wide bed!!!
The ‘two-choice’ menu was a choice of the meat dish or a vegetarian option. At Breakfast the evening menu would be on the table and you indicate which one you want. The buffet salad had lots of choice and could have been a meal in itself. The soup was very salty almost every day and there wasn’t much difference in taste, despite being something different each day. Main courses weren’t haute cuisine, but were perfectly edible and tasty. Wine was expensive, with the cheapest wine on offer starting at €23; all wines were Austrian. Bar prices were pretty good for a hotel; a small beer was €3.50 and a Gin and Tonic was €4.40. The staff will normally expect you to put any drinks on your room bill (to be paid at the end of the holiday), but will accept immediate payment if you wish to do so.
Breakfast was buffet-style and had lots of choice, including cereal, yoghurts, fruit, ham, salami, cheeses, bacon, omelette and breads. BUT…..despite a dozen different-flavoured teabags, 11 were fruit teas and the remainder was Earl Grey.
The pool was very busy with families between 4 and 5, but was quiet outside those times. It was very strange sitting in the pool watching people outside go by on skis! The sauna is Austrian, i.e. nude – no swimming costumes allowed.
I must make mention of Gary, the Snowscape rep. Having lived in Fieberbrunn for over 20 years he is a fount of knowledge and was always available at the end of a phone, if required.

Over all, this hotel might not be the most modern or most fashionable, but for value for money, child-friendly and general efficiency and friendliness it will be hard to beat.
