“Excellent accommodation in Flachau”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

Hi,

me and my girlfriend stayed at this nice Aparthotel in the January, 2013. And it is far the best accommodation that we have been on our skiing trips. Distance between the hotel and the nearest ski lift is under 8 min by car, but you got a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. Parking lot is right in front of the hotel. The hotel is run by a super friendly family - especially the owner - he speaks very good English and makes you feel welcome at any time. The decoration of the main lobby is very nice with typical Austrian decoration and by that I mean lots of wood. Apartment prices are fair and completely correspond with the type of quality you get. In App you get ABSOLUTELY everything: water cooker, coffee maker, small fridge, radio with mp3!, Flat-screen TV, lots of towels - in one sentence - everything you may need for a week stay. Beds are cozy, and we slept like babies. Wi-Fi connection is fast and reliable.
There is a free sauna for guests of the hotel - extraordinary. Also there is a good fun/game room with billiard table and a big Flat-screen TV.
Hope to return to this wonderful place next year.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view on the small creek.

We mistakenly booked the wrong dates for this hotel & realised this only when we arrived. However, the owner found us a great little suite down the road in the same vicinity & was most accommodating. We appreciate your help & hope to be back in winter (though this time with the correct dates!).

We stayed here in June in a Superior Room, what a fantastic place.
The apartment was immaculate, huge with all amenities.
It is one of the best places I have ever stayed.
Massive lounge, bedrooms and lounge with two large bathrooms and hallway. The balcony reached halfway round the whole house.
The hosts were extremely helpful and nice.
It is situated in a beautiful area across the street from a small lake and lovely walks
We went into Salzburg which is only about 40mins away.
We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Room number 17 is one floor up with great views and massive balcony, it is a superior room

Stayed at aparthotel am reitecksee for 8 nights on August 2012 with our 2 children (5 and 9). We booked the superior apartment. The apartment is spacious and the bedrooms are rather big, although not modern. It`s also worth mentioning that there is no bath, just showers, and more important - there`s no microwave! The place itself is suitable for children: there is a big trampoline outside and many kinds of "vehicles" for children. There are also many sizes of bicycles - for children and adults - in which you can take for free for a ride in town. In front of the hotel there`s a small lake, in which you can swim (though the water is very cold), surrounded with grass surface and a playground. There`s also a refreshment stand near the lake in which you can buy drinks and ice-cream. There are few supermarkets about 5 minutes drive from the hotel. The host is very nice and polite, and he also has a huge knowledge about the surroundings. He advised us many times and always with lots of patience and pleasantness. He also sell the Salzburgland card, so don`t bother buying it anywhere else. The hosts also do your laundry - for 5 euros that wash it and bring it back dry very quickly. They don`t clean or replace bedding (which is very common in places like this, and that`s just fine), but if you want - they will replace the towels as many times as you wish. We didn`t have breakfast in the hotel, so I can`t say anything about the quality of the food, however few mornings that I passed near the dining room I noticed that the variety of food is very limited, so paying 8 euros for that kind of breakfast is not value for money, and indeed most of the guests don`t eat there. You can, however, order fresh rolls, and they bring it to your room in the morning, but it`s also a bit expensive. Very important to mention that there is free Wifi in the rooms. And one more thing - the hotel is not located exactly in Flachau, but actually in Reitdorf, which is a very small and sleepy town near Flachau. There is absolutely nothing to do there during the evening and it`s very dark. I personally didn`t mind about it, because we used to travel all day long and got back to the hotel in the evening, with no intention to go out again. However if you look for a bit of action or activity in the evening - stay elsewhere. There are some other small towns around which are more lively.

Room Tip: The difference of price between the family room or 2 bedroom apartment to the superior apartment is...
