This restaurant is located in one of the quiter parts of Almere. Where it deserves a large and completed neigbourhood, Almere Poort is still very quiet and has a lot of unfinished buildings. The restaurant is quite large and I never stayed there for dinner, but the take away is perfect. Usually when I order, they can have the complete order ready for takeaway within 30 minutes. So they are fast and that is very nice if you want to order after work and don't have the patience to wait a long time.
Only one year ago, Almere had just one Indian restaurant, which I stopped ordering at, because the quality of food was declining. A few months ago two Indian restaurants opened almost simultaneaously. Tajmahal in Almere Poort and Taj in Almere Buiten. So my prayers were honoured!
Me and my family are lovers of authentic Indian food. Tajmahal has a wood burning oven in their kitchen to cook the Naan bread and other things and you can taste the difference with food made on gas ovens. Their chicken vindaloo is excellent and so is the Saag Paneer. I usually order the same every week, including Chicken Wings and Butter Chicken and those are really excellent. Out of five times I visited, I was offered something for free three times!
They are in a very dark area of Almere, but it's worth driving there when you are on the left (West) side of Almere.
I definitely recommend this restaurant.
