“A very nice hotel but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Avenue hotel is a very nice property. The rooms are large, clean and airy, the lobby is comfortable, and the employees are professional, helpful and nice. The breakfast, included in the room price, was outstanding. There is a metro station is 2 blocks away.

The problem is the neighborhood. Avenue is in a dreary neighborhood, with few restaurants or shops. There is graffiti all over the place. Knowing what I know now, I would have preferred to be in Norrebro or in the downtown area.

Room Tip: It would have been quieter to have a room in the back of the hotel, although Aboulevard really quiet...

This stylish hotel offers great value for money, particularly with the delicious breakfast and the mini bar (beer, soft drinks and water, replenished daily) included in the price. Our superior room was bright, comfortable and spacious, and there was free internet access through the smart tv. Based on other reviews about traffic noise, we asked for and got a room at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. Information on the hotel, like breakfast times, can be found on the hotel info pages on the tv (in case, like us, you aren't told at check in and go hunting for an info booklet in the room).

For us, the location was ideal. We arrived in the airport late at night and it was easy to get the metro directly to Forum and then walk the 5 mins to the hotel - the metro system is so quick and reliable, even at night, you don't need to bother paying for taxis. We enjoyed the easy 15-20 min walk into the centre of Copenhagen during the day, and then used the metro to get in and out of the centre at night - you're only two stops from Nyhavn and some great restaurants on/around Bredgade. We ate out mostly in the centre of Copenhagen, but there are a few places around the hotel, including the highly-rated Radio.

We were there over the Easter weekend and lots of places were still open - we'd been a bit worried about that but, luckily, Copenhagen turned out to be a good choice for a city break at Easter.

All in all, a great weekend and if we go back to Copenhagen we will definitely stay at The Avenue again.

Most impressed with helpful staff from the booking stage through to departure.
A very comfortable hotel in an excellent location. Easy walking distance to city centre.
Excellent breakfast, with a variety of choices.
Has a welcoming lounge /bar with books for browsing and board games if you are inclined.

The hotel is very convenient from airport (20 mins) incl a 5 min walk from station. It is also convenient to town (15 min walk),3- 5 mins on bus from beside hotel. The room was very comfortable not too warm or too cold and with window that open. The hotel is very comfortable with lovely plush seating areas and nice colourful decor throughout. Bar area is very relaxing and pleasant with a warm fire to thaw out around. The breakfast is excellent with a great choice of fresh fruit, dried fruit, muesli, yoghurts, cold meats and a great selection of cheeses, breads, teas etc. The staff are the envy of any hotel-really helpful, accommodating, pleasant and anxious to make every person's visit there a good one! A great place to stay- would love to return

Room Tip: Rooms on back of hotel are lightly to be quieter

A lovely hotel a bit far from the main downtown area but it was easy to reach it by metro or by foot (15-20 minutes). Staff very friendly, helpful and smily which made us to feel welcome. Breakfast definitely very good and has a lot to choose from.
We had a quiet room on the top floor and everything was perfect. A bit "homey" feeling so it didn't feel like staying at a hotel in fact which was a great bonus. Beautiful boutique design and nice little details. Lovely lobby area with couches and fireplace.
We'd recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking for a special place to stay in a quiet enviroment and wants something different from a "basic" hotel.

The avenue hotel has a great lounge, appearance and riendly staff. Relax at the bar with a beer or the comfy sofas beside the fire. The eating area is modern, the only thing i would say is no bath in the bedroom (although quite a common problem in copenhagen) and they could do with maybe a sligh update however they had flat screen tv and very comfy bed with modern bathroom. The city is probably the most expensive ive been to in Europe but the wages are higher so to be expected really, snowed on the last day and was beautiful

Room Tip: Rooms facing rear of hotel are quietest and remember there are 2 blinds and one is blackout (we didn...

We stayed at the avenue hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. the staff could not be more accomodating and helpful and the morning breakfast is a great way to start your day in copenhagen. the only thing that would make things a little more comfortable would be coffee and tea making facilities in the room otherwise everything else was fantastic and we would definitely recommend this hotel if you are not too bothered with a 10 to 15 minute walk into town, or you may jump on the bus to town from right outside the hotel entrance.
