“A wonderful, warm welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2011

We received a wonderful welcome from all the friendly staff at this terrific hotel. It achieves the rare trick of being welcoming to families (there was pumpkin carving for kids on our trip) as well as being intimate, sophisticated and grown-up. Beautiful presentation, comfortable rooms and a fantastic breakfast. The location is about twenty minutes walk from the centre, so not the most centrally-located hotel, but it's easily worth it. The free wifi was an added bonus.

This is a great hotel, well designed and stylish. A great lounge and a very cosy outdoor area, to enjoy a late night coffee. The staff however are head and shoulders above anybody else we've met. Mikael on reception was always available to help, and very accommodating to our party. A great stay, made even better by the friendliness of the hotel. Highly recommended

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room facing the courtyard, they are slightly bigger.

We arrived early morning from the US via red-eye. The hotel staff allowed us to check in early (8AM instead of 3PM) because there was a room available. [[Unfortunately, the room available smelled of smoke and had 2 single beds -- it was a small corner room, #314? We returned to the front desk promptly to decline the room and when we told them it smelled of smoke, they were angry (not at us) because it's supposed to be a non-smoking room. It showed they care about the hotel.]] We only waited 1 more hour in the lobby and someone else checked out early; they promptly cleaned the room and checked us in. It was a fantastic room -- large and garden-facing with lovely windows and sun. The bed was very comfortable and the free wifi and cable TV were extra nice for while we recovered from our jet lag. The included breakfast is impressive -- deliciously Scandinavian and enough of a range to satisfy anyone. The staff was incredibly welcoming, helpful with introducing the city and sights, and generally friendly and chatty. The lobby, that includes a bar, is large yet cozy. In a very expensive city, it was a great experience and worth the money!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the back of the hotel, the garden. It has better sunlight and, of course...

Check in & welcome: Very, very friendly and fast (although I booked a 2nd room for a colleague via Mr. & Mrs. Smith site, but this 2nd booking did not work out, but they found a quick replacement)
Room: Very nice, cozy and warm interior design, well designed toiletries, mattresses could be better, bathroom is small, but good enough, very clean
Breakfast: o.k.
Bar/restaurant area: Great, very friendly staff

Great hotel! Beds and linens were comfortable, the shower pressure Was great, especially surprising on the fourth floor. The included breakfast was excellent - lots of protien and healthy choices in a quaint restaurant setting. I was worried that this would be far from things but it was only a two block walk to other recommended hotels at a higher price and this hotel was QUIET. The hotel reception and bar was lively and friendly and there are a few local spots on the block to pop into. Only six blocks from Trivoli.

I've been staying here a few times on business in Copenhagen.
As a 3 star hotel they hit the mark pretty well, no fancy pool or minibar but a good clean hotel room and nice breakfast. They also throw in free WiFi (this should be standard for all hotels). The staff is always very helpful and the front desk can help you in almost every case.

The hotel is an old residential building, which mean that the rooms are not box-like hotel rooms "model 1A". It's charming but you also get the downside with less than perfect soundproofing. But unless you end up with a party next door, you won't be annoyed.

The location seem a bit off, but you can reach most of Copenhagen from the nearby Metro station. The local area also offer a lot of restaurants and bars.

Overall, it's a great choice to the big chain hotels. The price is also decent... for Copenhagen

We stayed in this hotel recently for a weekend break based on their website. The reception area is lovely, with really comfortable sofas and the decor is really nice etc, however there was a lack of interest from the staff really from check in to check out. It was quite impersonal. The idea of the hotel is fantastic, with the decor, outside decking area etc but should have been followed up with more friendly and helpful staff. It lacked the little touches that make a hotel memorable, for instance whilst having drinks at the bar there was no offer of any accompaniments, which would have been nice seeing as the drinks were extortionate prices! The bedroom itself was fine, lack of comfortable pillows, and a tea making facility would have been appreciated! The blind on the window was AWFUL! no chance of a lie-in in this hotel, there was no privacy from this when the lights were on in the evening either....the room badly needed curtains, we could not believe how awful this blind was, when away for a weekend you would like to have the choice of a lie in or not!! Breakfast was a nice buffet, however a little bit rushed, and ran out of many items which was a shame, as all the food is removed bang on 10.30am, which we thought was a little harsh, especially at weekends.
Location was good, that little bit out of the city centre, but a short walk to Forum Metro, which is literally an 8 minute walk, and then two stops to the centre, 20 mins to the airport. I would stay here again if the little issues above had been improved upon, however Copenhagen is poor value for money and whilst we enjoyed our stay we will not return and would be slow to recommend it to others. This hotel whilst pretty nice, and we did enjoy our stay, looking back now it was over priced and more of a guesthouse than a hotel.

Room Tip: We ate in The Custom House Restaurant in Nyhavn - absoloutely gorgeous! Ask for a room to the rear o...
