Had initially booked two day "champagne break". Extended it to three when we saw how good it was. Only regret we couldn't stay for four!!

Booked as a surprise for my husbands birthday. Room was immaculate and decorated with balloons that I had forwarded on. Dinner was delicious I had the braised lamb which was so tender and my husband had the rib-eye, the best he has ever had. Breakfast was a feast too. Service and staff excellent.

My partner treated me to a romantic night away for my birthday and the Samuel Fox Country Inn was just perfect. The staff were very friendly and attentive, our room (Foxtrot - Room One) was immaculate, very tastefully decorated and had stunning views of the countryside.
Dinner was absolutely delicious, my partner had ribeye steak, cooked perfectly and I had the braised lamb which was really tender. Breakfast was a gastronomic feast, really good quality ingredients and nothing was too much trouble.
We had a walk into Bradwell village...not much there but it certainly didn't spoil our stay and we'll definitely be visiting again soon.

Great food always, been 10 times at least and always the same. If you like a quiet place and good food then you will love it. Often quiet when we have been early in the evening...The welcome is always good........

A group of 6 of us went to the Samuel Fox Hotel for New Year. On arrival, we had champagne, sherry, fruit & chocolates in the room. All rooms were of exceptional quality and very comfortable. The evening was excellent and the food was superb! I have frequented many 5* hotels and famous restaurants over the years however the Samuel Fox has to be one of the best that I have ever visited. Do not question whether you should book it, do it now!

We found The Samuel Fox Country Inn disappointing. We were sold a 5* hotel in a country inn with a roaring fire and was disappointed once we arrived. Neither fires were lit and it was a particularly cold evening. The rooms and the inn and nicely decorated, modern and clean but I would not personally rate it as 5* probably 4*.
The food however was good as promised although there is a very limited menu.

A perfect destination to spend the weekend relaxing with friends. The Samuel Fox is a real find situated in abeautiful location. We were met by Kelly who worked tirelessly to ensure we had everything for our stay. The rooms are lovely and all different with all those little extras that make it special and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The food was excellent with plenty to choose from both at dinner and breakfast and very reasonaly priced. We all enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending it. This couple really work hard to give the highest standard of service and certainly achieve it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Samuel Fox Country Inn is situated in the pretty village of Bradwell in the heart of the Hope Valley in Derbyshire's peak District National park and offers breathtaking views from the bar and restaurant. The building underwent a full refurbishment in July 2008 and is modern and stylish while still managaing to retain its rustic charm. All of its rooms are delux double rooms with en-suite bathrooms; they have at least 26 inch flat screen televisions;internet access and coffee and tea facilities. In October 2012 the Inn was acquired by new manager and head chef, James Duckett in his first pub venture after an early career in the kitchens of fine dining restaurants in the UK, France, Netherlands and Australia and, more recently running his own restaurants in Devon and Andalucia. James is passionate about food and uses, wherever possible, good locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes, for his 'blackboard' bar snacks and a la carte lunch and dinner menus alike. With two AA rosettes, fine food is a special feature of the Samuel Fox. However, there's also a very warm welcome awaiting those wishing to just enjoy a drink in comfortable and convivial surroundings. ... more   less
