Just returned from a week at this hotel. The views are amazing. The swimming pool and beach are lovely, although the swimming pool is salt water which we weren't expecting. The whole family loved the hotel. Very friendly staff. Johanna was particularly helpful in recommending a couple of restaurants to us that were both fantastic. The sea water really is as clear as it looks in the pictures. We would love to go back.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a villa with our own little pool which was well worth it as our 8 year old had extra...

We stayed for a few days May 2014, I must say we found the staff excellent, we did not have the experience of another reviewer RobJager. The location is wonderful, view is spectacular with the island Delos opposite. The room very large, tastefully and elegantly decorated, very clean. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and generous in variety. The prices for lunch were a little high, but you expect that in such a place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and is probably the best accomm. we have stayed. Beware though, it is built on the slope of a hill and there is a lot of walking up and down to the different areas-good to walk off all that food-but they have complimentary, friendly staff who will drive you to the different levels if needed. Some rooms have outside spas, we did not try the pool. Lots of opportunities for fantastic photos. The local bus stops a few metres away to go into Mykonos. I could not say one negative thing about Saint Johns Hotel. LynandLes Sydney

Room Tip: Some have outdoor spas, some have a better view when the other buildings are not in the way.

Saint John Hotel Villas & Spa was a very nice place. We came here on our honeymoon. We're glad we came here! Here are my thoughts on this location:

The Good:
The Room & View: The room and the view were beautiful. The room had an appropriate amount of space. We didn't feel cramped at all and enjoyed spending some time in the room. We had a nice balcony with a terrific view.
The Spa: The staff there was pretty friendly. The beds could have been softer for the massage (it felt like a hospital bed), but certainly did the trick. The massage was very nice and we left a positive review in the front seating area.
Cleanliness: The room, the pool area, and the entire grounds were nearly spotless. We noticed it as soon as we walked into the room and took off our shoes. The floors were extremely clean. We really appreciated that!
The Bed: The bed will hold you down! The bed was so comfortable in the room that it made it difficult to get up in the morning. Some might think this is a bad thing, we found this to be enjoyable!
The Breakfast: What a great spread. Try the waffles. They're fantastic. Make sure you order a cappuccino and get a surprise pattern or picture on the top of the foam. He's an artist to be appreciated!

The Bad:
WiFi - If you're looking for high speed, this isn't it. I ran a speed test via my iPad and found the speed of the connection Download: 0.32 Mbps Upload: 0.1 Mbps. A stark difference from my home connection at a Download speed of 14 Mbps and Upload: 11.8 Mbps. Completely different. I would say that DSL was quicker than the connection at Saint John. Very frustrating if you're trying to use the WiFi to make a phone call back home or just peruse Facebook.
The Staff: While it is expected that a high-end hotel on a Greek island will have a snooty staff member. That doesn't bother me. My challenge is spending the money and not being able to get a yes for a simple question. For example, we had a flight later in the afternoon and spent some time at the pool waiting. We ate lunch (a little price in my opinion at 17 euros for a small plate of calamari and noodles, one of the cheaper ones on the menu) and had a drink. The challenge is we needed to clean up a little, wash off in the spa shower where there is hot water in the shower (thought this would be ok since we used the spa the day before). Instead, we were told to use the shower outside. After visiting Santorini, we noticed a stark difference between Mykonos and Santorini and the friendliness of the staff of the places we stayed and the people of the island.
The pool: Not heated. For May, this made the pool quite cold. No big deal, just be aware.

I'm a bit late in writing this review.. Actually, almost a year late. But the good thing is, over the past year, I have had the chance to stay at different top-notch resorts both, in India and elsewhere, such as Turkey for instance and I have just one thing to say. The Saint John Hotel is UNPARALLELED!

My wife and I stayed here in May 2013 during our honeymoon. Everything was perfect (and picture perfect) from check-in to check-out. I must mention Violetta, one of the hotel staff, who was extremely cordial and helpful in terms of showing us around the property and helping us with things to do in Mykonos. I'd give the food at the hotel a 6/5, especially considering they went out of their way cooking us food not on the menu! The Risotto is a must try, so are the Bloody Marys!

The hotel was kinf enough to upgrade us to a Junior or Honeymoon suite (I don't quite remember). The room and the view form the room were exceptional. The hotel has a fantastic spa, an incredible infinity pool and a private beach that is a must visit.

Overall, the experience was amazing and I'm yet to find a hotel that matches up to this one!

Room Tip: Check out the family room if you are two couples or more and don't mind staying together. The ro...

My wife and I were looking for peace and relaxation - we found it here. As I have said before, if the booking and pre-holiday arrangements go smoothly, it is usually a sign of good things to come and I was right again. Nothing was too much trouble.
We were collected from the airport and driven the short transfer to the hotel where the welcome was warm and friendly.
As promised our room had a lovely sea view from the balcony where we were able to watch the amazing sunset most nights.
If you want wild partying, this is not the place for you, however, if you want peace and relaxation with a huge spoonful of professional care and attention in the background then don't miss an opportunity to visit.

Room Tip: Make sure your room has a sea view
