What a great hotel... you might ask, compared to what? This hotel is fantastic compared to any international luxury hotel such as Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. What makes it so special is the friendliness, helpfulness and good humour of the staff members.
The facilities are very well kept although the hotel has been around for a number of years. Absolutely no signs of wear and tear. Housekeeping does a fantastic job. They also do turn-down service every evening.
I stayed in a superior sea-view room with a balcony. The room must be around 40 sqm with a seating area. The balcony is small but when do you sit on the balcony when you have a huge pool to sit around and a private beach to spend your days at.
The front desk staff is truly excellent. I would like to point out Georgia who made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. In addition to check-in, Georgia gave us information about all the beaches, dining options and things to do around Mykonos. She has been checking daily on whether we enjoyed her suggestions and whether there is anything she can do. Most important of all, you can see that she REALLY cares, it is not robotic friendliness but true hospitality coming straight from the heart.
Same with the waiters and waitresses at breakfast. If a waiter spots you carrying 2 plates from the buffet to the table, they will insist to take them away and carry them for you. Maria is absolutely fabulous. She also gave us tips of where to go and what to do.
The pool is very large and nice. However, if you want a sunbed in one of the cabanas around the pool you have to be there really early. Some people reserve them at 6 or 7 am already. The hotel beach is free of charge and fantastic. It is rather small but you always get sun beds and an umbrella. There are attendants at the pool to hand you towels, bring you food and drinks and spoil you with ice cream, fruit, cleaning your sunglasses, etc... without being intrusive.
The greek salad offered at the pool bar is the very best in all of Mykonos. Food and drinks are rather pricy, though. Cocktails cost around EUR 16 and salads EUR 14. Main dishes in the restaurant are around 30 to 40 EUR.
I can recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a smaller, more intimate type of resort (the St. John next door is much bigger for example) looking for relaxation and a quiet location. There is a free hotel shuttle to take you to Ornos beach (lots of taverns and good restaurants) or to town. The public bus also runs between the hotel and Mykonos town.
All in all, a great experience. I am actually still staying at the hotel for another week and could not wait to write a review about it, although I am not so active on Trip Advisor. Excellence deserves recognition and the staff of this resort are truly excellent and go above and beyond to make their guests happy. This is true greek hospitality in a fabulous setting at its very best.
