“Totally relaxing but expensive drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This hotel is of excellent quality and the attention of the staff cannot be faltered. On arrival you are given a tour of the complex which is helpful as it is a bit confusing with the different levels. If you go you will see what we mean!!! We had booked two sea view rooms. The sheets are changed daily which is to be expected of a hotel of this quality and the towels twice daily. They turn down the sheets and leave little gifts which is a nice touch. The rooms are spotless. Only wish we had upgraded and had a room with a walk in shower we had the bath with shower over. The taps are not under the shower but on the side so its a bit of a balancing act not to knock yourself against the taps each time. We had the half board option which means that you are given a voucher for your evening meal. Does make you feel a little second class and the menu is different to the main restaurant option. There is set choices of two starters a salad two set mains and two desserts. The food was excellent though and the waiters very attentive. Drinks are extra. You can opt to use the voucher in the beach restaurant instead of an evening meal. You are allowed 36 Euros per person which is actually quite generous although the food is not so good there. However even if you underspend your allotted allowance you don't get any credit towards the drinks bill. The hotel pool is salt water and large. We expected to find an infinity pool as that is what is shown on all the brochures. Not quite sure where they took the promo photos probably in one of the luxury suites so that is a bit misleading. Hotel has it's own beach which has plenty of sun shades. It's quiet and there are no water sports so no buzzing jet skis to break the silence. A nice touch is that staff come round with ice creams or fruit, iced flannels and also come round to clean your sunglasses. There is a complimentary shuttle bus but it only runs from 7pm to 10 pm but the local bus stop is right by the hotel. Within walking distance are two little mini markets where you might like to top up the fridge with cold drinks rather than pay the very expensive prices at the hotel. A film screen is put up each night and they run a selection of well known films including the famous Shirley Valentine for which the hotel is famous. It's a very pleasant way to watch a film and while away an hour or so. The only complaint we have is the cost of the drinks and the spa. I guess if money is no object then perhaps paying 14 Euros for a cocktail is ok but for some of us that is just a little too excessive. A bottle of water is over 4 Euros! So the drinks bill will soon mount up. The fact that the bar area is empty most nights might suggest that the majority of the guests are making a protest. That goes for the prices in the spa as well. We normally have a facial or massage but the prices were ridiculous and we heard reports of complaints about the quality of the massages so glad we did not waste our money. There is not much else going on at the hotel so trips into Mykonos town or hiring a car is a must. The town is wonderful especially Little Venice. All in all a very relaxing time would recommend it despite the odd negative comments. Only thing to be aware of is that Mykonos is a very windy island - be prepared to be blown about!!

This hotel is still perfect, On arrival the greeting is superb, they take you through all aspects of the hotel on a one to one basis. The same person shows you around the hotel amenities and to your room. Service is A+, cleanliness is A+.hotel is A+
The addition of an evening free shuttle service to and from Mykonos town is a bonus, as there are only 31 taxis on the island.

Room Tip: To get the best view from the room ask for a high floor, there are three blocks, all with lower midd...

We found the service in this hotel very good - wonderful staff, always eager to help. We really enjoyed the views and the facilities of the hotel. Very quite and you can have a lot of privacy despite the site of the hotel. Only glitch was the food - very expensive and not good quality but there are plenty of restaurants in town to compensate.

In June 2013 we spent three nights in this beautiful hotel.

Our superior-room was clean and spacious. Honestly spoken we didn't appreciate the huge bath-tub standing in our room which meant that the sleeping-area was relatively small.

Besides we were not amused about the ridiculous series of elevators to get to and from the room.

The breakfast-buffet was delicious with lots of options.

We liked the salt-water pool and the poolbar.

Very friendly and helpful staff.

We enjoyed our stay in the Mykonos Grand Hotel and would highly recommend this place!

We (a family of three) just stayed at the Mykonos Grand for 4 nights. We had a seaview superior room, which was beautiful and had a stunning view. The room had excellent accoustic isolation and a well performing airco.

The staff of the hotel is extremely professional but warm and welcoming at the same time. Kids are more then welcome, which is not always the case in top end hotels.

The hotel is beautifully located, with a very cosy beach as well as a beautiful pool.

We just loved the little tokens of attention during the day and evenings.

The breakfast buffet is vast and of top quality.

We only have two remarks:
1. We booked half board, thinking this would be convenient after a splashing day. The half board menu however does not come up to the standard of a hotel of this (price) level. Pity. The a la carte menu is not that elaborate to allow you to explore gastronomy during 4 nights.
2. The prices of the poolside bar are extravagant to greek standards and even to general European standards (avg 15€ for a cocktail...)

During a lovely vacation with my daughter, we visited four separate 5-star hotels in Greece. This was by far our favorite. The property is breath-taking, the in-room amenities stellar, and the staff simply phenomenal. We've never felt more welcome! We have both decided we will ONLY stay here when we are able to return. The staff made everything magical. The only downside was we were spoiled by the free wifi, in-room coffee, amazing beach service, and treats at turn-down...which made the next two hotels pale in comparison. Just fantastic, would give ten stars if I could!

Yes, the setting and the hotel itself are gorgeous, but what sets its apart is the amazing attitude of the staff. Yes, it is pricey, but it is not a shock as the prices are all known ahead of time (pretty simple.....don't book and expensive hotel and then complain about the cost).

One of the best holidays we've experienced.
