My husband and I stayed at the Mykonos Grand 26 Sept - 01 Oct 2007 as part of our honeymoon. We LOVED it!!

The room: We stayed in a Sea View room that was spotless - and bug free! I've been to many islands in Greece and there are always huge bugs. Not here! The room was beautiful, spacious and traditional Greek (marble floors, lots of white and blue, casual but chic). We had a cute little balcony to watch the sunsets on. Bathroom was a good size (huge for Greece) and very clean.

The service: OUTSTANDING. Check-In was a breeze. Check-Out was a breeze. My husband's birthday was on the second night of our stay. I worked with the staff to set up a surprise (private) birthday dinner on the beach. Maria, the woman assigned to us that night, was AMAZING!!! She set up the entire thing - table under the balcony on the beach, iPod full of music, a big fire when it got dark out for us to hang out by. She made excellent food recommendations (the food is the same as the menu inside - I had ostrich) and when he ordered dessert, she also made a make-shift birthday cake out of a chocolate muffin from the kitchen - complete with a candle! Her and I sang "Happy Birthday" to him and we had a blast.

Maria then left us alone to hang out and listen to music, dance, be alone by the beach. When we returned to our room, there was a "do not disturb" sign on the door - I thought my husband had put it there before we left. He had not. We opened the door and our room was glowing - candles were everywhere and on our bed was a huge heart made of rose petals! We were floored! It was the perfect end to a romantic night.

During the day, the pool staff was really nice and often came around the pool to spritz our faces with water and sometimes they brought complementary ice cream around! Yum!

Area: Agios Yiannis is secluded and takes a little bit to get to Hora (Mykonos Town). The town is fun, go see the windmills & eat there. We also ate in Ourno a couple of nights. It is walking distance from the hotel and the restaurant Ithaki is really good.

Hotel beach/pool: Both excellent.

Spa: Had a pedicure before we left (my old one was wearing out. Not bad. Expensive for a pedicure. I didn't have time to try any other services (busy being on my honeymoon) but I wouldn't just go for a pedicure.

Overall Impressions: Can't wait to go back. Quit, beautiful, luxurious, unpretentious, perfect.

Notes: A couple families with small children - the kids seemed to love it and the staff was so nice to them! The staff is amazing.

Stayed for two weeks with my wife, her brother and our two adult sons and it was loved by all. We were there for two weeks but far from becoming bored we were able to explore the restaurants not only on our strip of beach but also in the town where the choice is huge, not solely for eating but also for very pleasant bars. There is everything from Japanese to local tavernas and although the cost of living index is higher than many Greek islands we rarely felt ripped off. As for the hotel , not only was it Grand but it was also immensely friendly but without ever losing its professionalism. Breakfasts were stunning with a massive choice, so much so that lunch was rarely required. We also ate dinner in the hotel on a couple of occasions and while it did not live up to the promise shown by breakfast it was still more than acceptable. Service throughout the hotel was excellent and the management team - a family - were absolutely tops. I would have no hesitation in recommending both the Grand Hotel and the island to even the most discerning friend.

My husband and I stayed at the Mykonos Grand for four nights during our Honeymoon. It was absolutely luxurious! We stayed in a garden view room, which was the least expensive, and it was stunning. The room was spacious and bright (not what you would expect for "garden view"). We had a nice balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. The service was outstanding, and the staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast was phenomenal and certainly kept us full most of the day. The resort is a bit outside of the city center, but there is a bus stop just off the resort grounds and the city bus is easy to use. The resort has a little stretch of beach to itself, and it's best to get there early to get a chair with an umbrella. The pool (saltwater) was nice and had a good, if overpriced, lounge to get lunch, snacks, etc. Mykonos has a very active night life, and we appreciated staying a bit outside of the downtown area in order to get some peace and quiet.

This hotel was fantastic. Our room was modern, clean, and had a very relaxing feel to it. The pools (there are two -make sure to check them both out) are salt water and refreshing. The staff is around all the time to help. Really great place and totally worth the money.

It is not on the beach - and that actually seemed like a bonus. the places directly on the beach seemed to invasive and crowded. our little oasis was peaceful and private.

The hotel also will do airport and port drop offs and pick ups. There is another shuttle that runs to the downtown Mykonos area. I loved the access and privacy this location provided.

If you plan on relaxing, lounging, reading, working out, getting spa services, eating well, you will get the best of Greece at this beautiful resort. You'll get the sea, the sun, and complete relaxation at Mykonos Grand Hotel. The architecture is white, classic island Greek and beautiful. The modern amenities and service made it worth the trip and price. The gym equipment was updated for European standards. If you like spa treatments, I highly recommend the Olive Oil body massage. Wake up a little early, and claim a tent covered cabana pool-side; otherwise, you won't get the best pool-side view. The restaurant served fresh and classic Mediterranean and Grecian cuisine. If your into the night life, Mykonos has a hot party scene, and it is just a few minutes bus ride from the hotel. Grecians begin eating dinner at 11 p.m. and party until the sun comes up. But, if you want an escape from the night life and party scene, I recommend staying at this hotel. I highly recommend ending an Athens, Delphi, and Olympia bus or city tour on the island at this hotel. You'll get to relax before heading home.
