“Absolutely Fabulous!”

Mykonos Grace

Sep 29, 2008

Greece can have appalling service during peak seasons so I wasn't keeping my hopes high when we drove from the airport to Mykonos Grace. But we were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent service which we received from the moment we checked-in until our check-out. We were there for 3 nights and did not want to leave. The staff was polite and friendly and all of our requests were fulfilled very promptly. It's a small well-designed boutique hotel with a grand service.

We stayed in a room on the upper floor and woke up every morning to a stunning view of the sea. The room itself is quite minimalistic; not big (but not too small either) and comes with extra amenities like flip flops, beach bags and beach towels.

The daily champagne breakfast is divine. Try the breakfast crepes; they're amazing!

The pool area had good lounge music when we were there. The sun beds around the pool could get crowded after breakfast time but then again Mykonos has so many great beaches to venture to.

We will certainly go back to Myknos Grace. It made our stay in Mykonos simply perfect.

“Best of the Best”

Mykonos Grace

Sep 16, 2008

This is my 3rd trip to Mykonos and my 5th trip to Greece and this was the nicest place Ive stayed on any of the Greek island. We have stayed at the Belvedere and other boutique hotels and this blows them away. Its location is great as it is failry close to town, but somewhat isolated. The beach is a two minute walk which is unsual as most hotels are not on the water. THe service is first class, rooms are clean but small. Staff is amazing. The hotel bus will take you in town and pick up up into the wee hours of the morning. Its on the pricey end but worth it for the overall package.

I was a little worried about staying here given some of the negative reviews but now I'd happily recommend this place. Great rooms (they even loan you laptops right in the room!) Great food, great pool, great location (just north of town) and most of all: GREAT STAFF.

Worth it and would happily go back!

“Fantastic service - with a genuine smile”

Mykonos Grace

Choosing a hotel in Mykonos is no easy task! Based on reviews here, we went ahead with Mykonos Grace.

Here are the plus points:
1. The staff is fantastic. Every effort is made to help you out. Their restaurant suggestions are bang on ( Aqua - the best Italian ever, it made the most sublime spaghetti with tomato sauce upon request; Solygar - amazing place by the beach - make a day of it; Nobu - absolutely enchanting and the little tavern down from the hotel.)
2. The location is great. Plus they offer a ride to Mykonos town whenever you want.
3. The view is amazing.
4. Breakfast was great - it was included and was the only meal we actually had in the hotel - for the first time ever, our hotel bill was just room tarrif!

A few cautions -
1. For me it was a case of unrealistic expectations, once I adjusted them, it was fine. It is a small boutique hotel, don't expect the world! At the first instance, the property is slightly underwhelming. Thankfully we had a massive private terrace. it made up for the sparse (unimaginative?) décor of the room itself.
2. The wooden shutters were on the outside, so opening them in the morning meant getting up, grabbing a robe, going out to open the windows!! the lights kept acting up. With a power surge the entire room was lit up - at 4 in the morning and then again at 5!!
3. Psychologically one expects more for what one pays for the hotel. But then soon one realises that Mykonos is EXPENSIVE!

A few tips....
1. Be prepared for the wind. Its is very much a constant feature. Ladies, your scrunchie is your best friend!!
2. Pace your self...
3. Sit down when the next Amex bill arrives... but at least you went down in style!!

The Mykonos Grace is a lovely, intimate property. It suits the character of the island. No bells and whistles, but provides a pleasant, uncomplicated, beautifully run place to lay down your head after a long night partying..... which is precisely what you need.
