One of the world’s oldest botanical gardens, Pamplemousses Garden, is a very nice place to visit. It provides relief in a hot day, as well as a great overview of tropical vegetation. Giant Amazon water lilies are most famous. We also particularly liked a fenced “spices garden”, comprising all famous tree species which attracted Europeans to Asia. Surprise, no mosquitos detected. I think that taking a good guide is a must. We were guided by Carine from Taxi Mauritius.
