John and Pam gave us a lovely welcome and made us feel instantly at home. The feeling on arrival of spaciousness also extended to our bedroom and bathroom, which are kept to a very high standard of comfort and cleanliness. The dining area has a 'baronial' feel to it, with very high ceiling and mezzanine floor, where there is a second guest sitting area. We loved sitting on the veranda looking out onto the huge garden, listening to the silence interupted only by birdsong or the odd sheep. As for the food!! All meals were well presented, plentiful, and absolutely delicious. At my request John even printed me off a recipe or two! We will definitely return! The best B & B ever!!!

John and Pam are wonderful hosts - and great cooks! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made our stay both pleasurable and memorable. It was just like staying with close friends. It was also terrific value! Cannot recommend their lovely Chambre D'Hotes too highly.

We stayed with John and Pam for 4 nights in May 2009 while i was house hunting. I came over with my sister in law to look at one particular cottage which was known to them. I did actually put an offer on the cottage and had it accepted. John and Pam were so thrilled for me that they opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate. They feel like old friends now. They are superb hosts and the food and hospitality second to none. We felt so at home with them and had the most relaxing time while doing something quite stressful. We have been back to see them when there to complete on the cottage. Another warm welcome.
Visit them if you are looking for somewhere welcoming in the area, I can promise a delightful stay. See you soon John and Pam

We stayed with Pam and John in August 2007 at a very bittersweet time for us as we were there to clear a much-loved family holiday house in Millac ,which had been in the family for years. My parents had spent several months of the year there but my father had died and so we had sold.We needed a comfortable and peaceful base to return to each evening after a hard day of work and emotional strain, and La Chene Vert was that place. Pam & John were very kind and comforting and brilliant hosts. The house is beautiful and is in lovely grounds. It is perfectly situated to do lots of sight seeing in this lovely and unspoiled part of France. John and Pam have built excellent facilities for disabled visitors. If I return to Millac I shall certainly stay there again.

First stayed with Pam & John at this beautiful chambe d'hote last year december 2007. At the time we were looking for a house to buy. The warm welcome and helpfulness were unending. We only stayed for 3 nights as we had various other places to visit. In hindsight we should have stayed put and travelled to our other destinations as the service, comfort and hospitality in our other bed and breakfast places were only 40% of LE CHENE VERT.
Hence when we went back to france to sign for our house, we of course stayed at Le Chene Vert. We were treated extremely well and made to feel very very comfortable. We have again been back for the 1st week of June and stayed this time for a whole week. Le Chene Vert looked even more beautiful with the sun shining, the garden was now in flower and very pretty. Le Chene Vert has a lovely lounge area where we could chill out, make our own coffee, tea etc., and even watch the television to catch up with the news in England. John cooked our evening meal and this we can reccommend. John and Pam gave us great details of the surrounding area, things to do etc., We would reccommend this for all types of travellers including families as there is a lovely large enclosed garden with swings and slides etc.,
Le Chene Vert is the cleanest Chambre d'Hote we have stayed in.
John and Pam have succeeded in giving quality accommodation at a very good price.
Please try and you will be very happy
