“Absolutely fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

On our 6 week journey with our Maui van, I was somewhat nervous to make sure the beach front camping site I booked would occur, going on our other park upsets. We were in heaven, site overlooked water , dolphins swam past every morning and throughout day. Amenities fantastic, laundry great, restaurant better than any Melbourne restaurant, staff so obliging, happy hr 2-1 cocktails perfect. This has been our highlight of our trip. We left for one day of our 1 week stay to visit Denham - very pretty, shell beach - amazing, bluffs, shark feeding aquarium fantastic, all in all it was brilliant. Worth paying bit extra for beach front site, thank you Monkey Mia, best place in WA.

The dolphin interaction is great and well worth a visit, but after having just spent two nights here, I'd highly recommend that you stay elsewhere.

The 'resort' is very tired and needs a great deal of tlc. For example the hot tub was broken and the kitchen looks nothing like the pictures. It's very basic.

Be wary of the shared ensuite double rooms too. I thought that one bathroom between two rooms would be fine, but there was a family of five squeezed into the room I was sharing the bathroom with. Six people trying to use one bathroom was a challenge.

However, it's the blatant 'money making' attitude of the resort, bordering on exploitation and lack of emphasis on customer service that really put me off. For example I booked breakfast in advance when I booked the room under the impression that it would be cheaper this way at 20 AUD per day. However, in resort they were only charging 15 AUD! When I queried this with reception they were totally unsympathetic and quoted a 'special' they were currently running. They wouldn't even entertain the idea of crediting me for the special. This is also the only place I have encountered in my travels throughout WA, and in fact New South Wales and Victoria too, that insists on charging a surcharge for debit card payments, even though their policy says it applies to credit card payments only. Again, when I challenged this with the duty manager she wasn't interested and dismissed me, saying I could check my legal rights when I left. Not the attitude I would expect of a decent resort, and clearly they are not interested in generating repeat custom.

As I said, definitely come and visit the dolphin feeds here, but you'll get better value for money and a much nicer experience if you stay in Denham or surrounding areas.

We stayed one night in caravan park. The location is awesome, we had a blast hiring a pedal boat, sunset drinks, and the dec work around dolphins and dugongs and general environment was inspiring. The lowlight was the staff and maintenance- nearly everything was out of order and also hoons that went from 5am till dawn. Worth the visit, but once is enough.

We stayed in the caravan park - huge sites compared to other parks, direct beach access, clean bathroom and laundry facilities. You can also access all the resort facilities. Great restaurant, bars and pool. Don't miss the 1st dolphin feed of the day And its worth exploring Hamelin Pools, Eagle bluff and Denham. Great to get up close with dolphins

We were booked in garden villa for 5 nights we cancelled last 2 as we weren't happy with the value of unit and service we were getting. Whole resort is untidy from gardens through to bar & amenities. They should call it a caravan park not a resort. Very disappoint with stay. Beach was beautiful though shame there wasn't nice accom.

I don't know why people complain about the cost of accommodation in such remote places...
If you want to stay right on the water with the easiest access to tours and activities then yes, you will have to pay for it...
This place is wonderful. The restaurant had very good value food and was delicious. The Beach Villa we stayed in was basic but clean and comfy and we sat on out balcony watching dolphins swim in and out...
Cant speak for the other rooms and types of accomm but we found our villa amazing!

Stayed in beachfront villa absolutely stunning fantastic views Accomodation average very small cabin no seperate bedrooms not great if you have young children, although portacot provided. Room was a bit dirty eg hair on floor mould and dirt in shower but service was good in restaurant and bar. Great value breakfast But poor food service times for families with young kids eg no dinner service til 6.30 pm
