“strange place sometimes it is excellent other days”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

if you count the fact that i had a used match in my dinner but i stll like coming here there is some thing wrong about this place my step daughter high lighted the fact the staff were seen hogging the front door whilst smoking fags would be enough to put a lot of customers of the idea of dinner
complete lack of proper management could be the reason why this place is getting a lousy write up and it needs a goo kick up the pants and astaff talk

“Really helpful and welcoming service but Plastc atmosphere and awful food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

Tasteless and undercooked fish and gammon that tasted of petrol. Cheap and horrible. The other diners had a similarly awful experience. The only positive was that the waitress was charming and a refund was provided without any quibbles. We only went there because the White Heart wouldn't have my children and showed zero interest in our custom.

“What a transformation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Had lunch here on Saturday afternoon, the menu was extensive and average price for a pub the food was to a high standard with friendly service, we were a large party of 9 adults and children and were made to feel very welcome, they were quick to join tables together to fit us in as we had not booked in advance. They have obviously spent a lot of money and time on the renovation and it now looks clean and modern. Well worth a visit.

“Friendly owners but bathroom was freezing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Recently stayed at the Anchor. The bedroom was nice and clean. The bathroom was newly refitted but needed a radiator or heated towel rail as it was freezing. The bar was also welcome and breakfast was nice and plenty of it.

“What a complete difference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

The landlords have brought the pub back to being a decent proper place to frequent. The food was excellent value and plentiful. The service was very friendly like the atmosphere.

My wife and I will be returning often now
