Whilst on Holiday in the New Forest we visited this center and had a fantasic day from start to finish.
The staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you - I took my two year old daughter and the staff bent over backwards to make sure she had a great day, they even put up the bouncy castle just for her! They also told me to make sure i asked if there was anything she wanted another go on - she had three rides in the cinderella horse and cart, brushed one of the ponies and fed all the aminals.
I felt this was a lovely run place, the staff clearly loved their jobs and the horses. They did lots of talks and brought the horses out and told us the history of their breeds and their backgrounds which was a nice touch as it showed what brilliant work the center is doing.
The horses were very well cared for and seemed very happy.
The other nice aspect of this place is that it wasnt overpriced or a money making machine - once you paid the very reasonable enterance fee, you could buy bags of food to feed the horses at 50p each but there was no pressure to do so. All the tractor rides and horse and cart rides were free. They had a lovely picnic area so if you wanted to take your own lunch you could. We did visit the cafe, which again was very reasonable.
This is a wonderful day out for familys of all ages, i would definetely reconmend the heavy horse center as a brilliant day out, and if we are ever down in the area again i would go again.
