Well, I stayed here for a work trip last week. We were going to travel to Samana and its vicinities so it was somewhat convenient. Keep in mind that this hotel is on the way to Las Galeras so if you plan to go to Samana, you'll need a ride. Rooms are clean, and spacious. Beds are a little too stiff for my taste. At least on the room I had, which was on building A. You have to hike up a pretty steep hill to get there - so if you have knee issues you might want another building. Food is...well, food. Nothing particularly special and quite repetitive. They do have access to a patch of beach that looks nice. This is at most a place to crash if you get a good deal. I'm pretty sure you can do better.

“WORST PLACE TO GO FOR VACATION”

This is the worst "resort" that you can ever go to. The things that they say they offer are not true. I went to this place December 25 of 2012, this was terrible starting from the pool, entertainment, bar, restaurant, rooms. The bar is terrible they do not have the right equipment to make drinks, it was so terrible that a simple pina colada they could not serve. In the morning for breakfast I had to go outside to buy food from the street because everything that they had look and taste horrible. One of the owners "Oscar" have terrible customer service, he do not care about the customer after they pay. The rooms were not clean property. The place is not safe at all. TRUTH ME FOR YOUR VACATIONS DO NOT GO TO THIS SO CALL RESORT, YOU WILL REGRET GOING HERE......

“Cozy resort”

A little resort with great prices and modest facilities. Two pools and hot tubs also access to the beach and night life. Specially important due to the location.

Room Tip: Make sure that before you stay in a room you check the TV and the air conditioner.

“A true oasis”

I just came back from a trip to La Tambora and must say the hotel was great and the service was even better. Since there weren't a lot of guests, we had the grounds pretty much at our disposal. The staff were extremely attentive to our needs and made sure we were well taken care of. There are a few pools for all ages and a stretch of beach lies closeby.

The hotel is not like your usual all inclusives but that's precisely what makes it so great. Guests are given special attention and are able to enjoy beautiful grounds without having to share with crowds.

The food is one of the things we enjoyed the most. The cuisine is mainly Dominican but very tastefully prepared. There wasn't a meal we were turned off by.

All in all I highly recomment this hotel.

“Disaster”

Arrived at La Tambora on 26th June 2008, after a 9 hour flight from uk and a 2 hour journey by bus. Place looked lovely when I arrived. Went to book in and was told I was only guest and that they were going to be closing in 4 days time due to lack of guests...Had to go and try and find another hotel. Very dissapointing-wouldnt recommend to anyone!!!
