“Nice Vacation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2010

After reading the reviews i kinda knew what to expect for our 9 day long stay. The room was nice and spacious. We had no problem with using the safe in the room. I did bring my own washcloths. After tipping the maid we did receive washcloths but not in the beginning. I would recommend bringing a watch or a small clock. There were no clocks in the resort. (kinda nice cause it felt like time stood still, but it would of been nice to know what time it was) Our normal routine was going to the gym early in the morning, getting breakfast - which was good- and going to either sunset cove beach or the pool. I felt like sunset cove was much nicer, not as rocky as the other beach and really quite. We brought our own masks to do some snorkeling. The jerk hut was good just gave you small portions of chicken. They do run out so get there early. We did bring our own mugs for the drinks, make sure you bring lots of ones, had a difficult time with getting change. Felt bad cause we didnt tip at times. It rained everyday around the same time, sometimes it was bad but it gave us a chance to get lunch. Dinners were ok, not so impressed with the restaurants liked the buffets better. We went to Rick's cafe, jumped off the cliff which was really fun and watched the sunset. The food wasnt worth the price. We also did a deep sea fishing trip, saw sperm whales, sharks, caught alot of tuna. Our last outting was a massage at the resort. Very relaxing then we did a sight seening tour of Negril, we saw an old fort, went to the market , ate at The Rockhouse --amazing food and view!!! then to margartaville. Our driver was awesome, very informative and felt safe. The nightlife at the resort started a little to late for us. The workers were always friendly, respectfull and singing. I would recommend this for someone who wants to do nothing and relax.

ok so my wife and i came here for our honeymoon this past week, and looooved it, the food was awesome.... although id skip the Italian place... not the greatest....the creole place was certainly the best there. the shows were very entertaining and funny (the whole entertainment crew was awesome, especially blaze) and if you go to the creole restaurant request to be served by basil. hands down best waiter i have ever had in my life... only thing i really had to complain about was the bedroom when trying to sleep, the sheets were somewhat damp and muggy.. the drinks were great, and there was always something to do.. i would definately recommend the zipline tour and tubing combo ... and for the tubing ask to have "shrek" as one of your tour guides.. he was hilarious... all in all this was an awesome trip and would come back again

Although we went during the rainy season, our stay overall was very comfortable. Our room was decent and clean. There was some imperfections like small cracks around the shower. The kingsize bed was soft but i like a soft mattress. My boyfriend on the otherhand prefers a firm mattress so he was not entirely pleased. The downside of it all was that the rain had knocked down the cable TV wires and we had no TV reception for 24 hours.

The pool was awesome! But beware of bee's around the swim up bar. There were more than enough lounge chairs to go around. The beach was nice but you would see a few cigarette butts in the sand.

For breakfast/lunch, they only opened up the buffets and they served the same things every day with the exception of lunch (there were a few new selections). The Jerk Chicken Hut is a MUST for lunch. We went there for 2 lunches and were very satisfied both times. For dinner, we went to the a la carte restaurant. My favorite was the steakhouse. The service was great and my steak was cooked to perfection. My least favorite was the Creole restaurant because the food was overcook and tough ( i ordered the conch). There is a sports bar/grill open 24 hours for late night snacking and food there is not bad.

As for the Bars, there is one up in the middle on the 2nd floor called Infinity bar. The bartender there makes and AWESOME pina colada and malibu baybreeze. I probably spend the most time there =)

All in all, this place was worth it and i wished I could've stayed and extra day there.

Grand Palladium was great experience for me......Travelling to other hotels in the world I find it quite relaxing, funfilled, exciting and the warm faces of the workers was so adorable......Travelling with the JUTA Taxi drivers was so warm and informative. These drivers I surely would recommend to anyone staying at that hotel........The vehicles were so immaculately kept and the drivers whom I drove with are quite experienced.........Sure recommendation

Hotel pool beautiful. Rooms were very nice and good sized. Buffets were good, but not lavish. We dined in 3 of the ala carte restaurants and 2 out of 3 were excellent - the creole one great. Service at Bubba's needed to be improved. Did not receive food in a timely manner. Staff very enthusiastic and friendly. Night time shows presented by staff were very enjoyable. Disappointed in beach. The brochure picture made it look much larger than it reallly was. Be careful on scheduling outside activities. We arranged a short trip to Negril with one of the tour ladies set up in the lobby. Our tour driver for my husband and I to Negril left us at a Margarita Beach Spot and did not return in 2 hours (which was supposed to be one half hour. We had to pay someone else to take us bach to the Palladium. The hotel did refund our money. Just remember to get the driver's name - we forgot to do that and had no record.

My wife and I went on an all inclusive vacation to mexico for our honeymoon a year ago and we were so impressed with everything so we went into this vacation with high expectations, some met or exceeded and some fell short. Starting with the pros, we both loved how there were so many restaurant choices, every night we got to taste something different. We loved all the activities that were included: snorkeling, catamaran, paddle boats, kayak. The beaches were clean and beatiful although some beaches had a lot of shallow coral which made swimming difficult. The resort was only 30 mins from the montego bay airport. Now with the cons. The service is less than stellar. I was constantly made to feel that I was inconveniencing the staff. It was in stark contrast to the service we experienced in Mexico. The resort is enormous and it really made getting from our room to our preferred beach difficult. One half of the resort had too many college spring breakers while the other half was the more laid back side. We quickly found that we enjoyed the laid back side. The AC in the room was broken. I had trouble sleeping every night because it was about 80 degrees while I had the thermostat set to 50. The bathroom was dirty and in disrepair. Our jacuzzi tub was dirty with hairballs. Our shower was broken. The toilet was half clinging to the wall and tiny. Overall, I would only recommend the vacation for the price we paid: $1700 for 5 nights for 2 people. Anymore than that, I'd have a hard time agreeing to.

We booked this trip to celebrate one of our daughter's graduation. We have four children ranging in age from 11 to 22. They all had a terrific time! My parent's also went along and even though there is a lot of walking they did not mind, or if they did they just called for a pick up and someone was there quickly to take you where you wanted to go.

We had some problems upon check in with rooms and lack of air conditioning, but it was taken care of promptly and they made sure we were satisfied. Rooms are spacious and mini fridge is restocked daily which is very nice. Always keep your spare room key in slot by door this keeps your air running while you are gone or else it gets hot! Housekeeping did wonderful making great designs in your room to look forward to everyday.

Even though it is all inclusive, take a lot of one dollar bills with you, everyone expects a tip! You will quicker bar service also. And as for the bars, purchase an insulated mug before you leave and use it there. It will pay off not to make so many runs to the bar and your drink will stay cold. This is a must!

The entertainment staff at the activity center by the main pool is without a doubt tthe best we have ever had on a vacation! They are hiliarious, friendly, and extremely nice. If you don't have a good time with them it's your loss. We loved them all, Happy Feet, Smurf, 007, Blaze, Avatar, Smiley, Superman, Tweety and Panther!

Food is good, not spectacular, but we never went hungry. Some of the waitstaff is friendly some not. We like Dwayne in the Main Buffet. And Andrea and Lawrence at the main pool bar. The bartenders at the swim up bar were not so nice. We never had any one approach any of us to buy weed so not a problem. Would recommend going to Negril and rent the van for yourself instead of on a tour. Cost was cheap and driver, Michael was a wonderful "tour guide" to have on the way. We went shopping in Negril and then to Rick's Cafe to watch and do the cliff diving, which was fun and amazing.

Great place, for a great price!
