“Romantic and excellent for Nature Lovers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014

We had a great memorable experience!!! Fantastic Scenic views around this resort. Superb locations all over. Its little adventurous I felt because it is around 40KM from the munnar. We cannot go through car because the road is not smooth so we were asked to park our car and travel in a jeep for about 8 KM from there. We started around 6.30PM in the evening in Jeep sent by the resort people.I was little bit scared after seeing the roads and i felt it was adventurous and thrilled to reach the resort.Once I reached it was scary for me since it was a lonely place and i found no one is outside, but when i saw the sun rise I felt i was in heaven. Lovely Location. I cannot forget that beauty of the nature.Awesome, fantastic, superb..............We have gone for trekking and visited the surrounded tea estates and you can find so many beautiful views while walking...Its is very good for couples.Food was tasty and we enjoyed the warmth of camp fire in the cottage in that shivering whether. Cottage was neat, spacious and beautiful views from the window. But it is far from munnar.I suggest, stay for one day and rest in this resort go for trekking and visit tea estates and experience the beautiful sceneries.

Camp noel . .From Munnar city, its approximatly 40 kms ride. For the ones who loves road trip, this ride takes you throug the green tea plantations, and then through a thick forest. I'd recommend to avoid traveliing at night as the roads are lonely.Munnar city itself is crowded with resorts, but its the location of Camp Noel which makes it unique. I must say that if you are planning for sight seeing in Munnar, be warned as the ride is bit lengthy. . . On the other hand, if you want to enjoy the nature, and your freinds/partners company this is the place to be!

The resort is located in a valley, and very silent except for the wind breeze and birds chirping. The staff is very courteous. The cottage has a DTH connection and a land line. Cell connectivity is limited to BSNL.

Room Tip: Choose the cottage if you are travelling with your partner.

We stayed for three nights and although the place is beautiful and peaceful, the service leaves a lot to be desired! The food is absolutely delicious and we were warned that we had to wait, which we were prepared to do as everything is freshly prepared, but one night we had to wait 2 hours 45 minutes for our meal, by which time we were tired and past being hungry! I phoned to ask for a cold drink to be delivered to the room (which was part of the service) but because it was out of the allotted time for service I was just ignored and never received my drink. The beds we found were very uncomfortable. There is plenty of tea, coffee and water in the room, but sometimes you just wants something else! Hot water is only available a couple of times a day and as I say meal/service times are also restricted. For us a holiday is about freedom so the regimentation of this place is not what we want (we could go to Butlins for that!). Considering the time it takes to get to this hotel and how much it costs us we felt ripped off!!! Sorry!

32 years of friendship between 12 friends, now in various corners of the world came together and we decided to celebrate this meeting at Camp Noel. What a fantastic place!

The room facilities are remarkably good & clean and up to standards and we had a lovely time. Lovely area for trekking/ exploring (Although beware of the wilderness for Elephants - you don't want to be in the path of a rogue bull elephant) The place is scenic and what more... most of the telephone network do not work there and so you can really enjoy the peace of the place and stay switched from work. Thats what holidays are about isn't it?

You can get plenty of exercise climbing up and down the mountain from your cottage to club house and wandering around etc. They do not accept cards, so carry cash please. Hope i have been help full and good luck!

Room Tip: There is an indoor badminton hall at the club house. Other sports activities like swimming and gym a...

This is a recommendable place...

The long drive to camp noel is a good experience as you get to cover a good portion of Munnar on the way. Although the roads are good, there are steep climbs, drops and curves which inexperienced drivers may find a bit hard to negotiate. But take it lightly and as a good learning experience.

The location is heavenly with excellent climate...courteous staff...Good food..hot water...Cottages well set with great fireplaces...

Thumbs up for camp noel.
-Don.

We reached after a hectic drive, down into the valley to Camp Noel. Quite, serene and peaceful. The staff immediately attended to us and we were upgraded from 2 rooms to a two bedroom cottage. The 2 BR cottage had a living along with a fireplace that we immediately put into use. The cottages are homely, lean, not luxurious and clean. The bathrooms are quite basic. The bed linen is for the place and price a bit of a shock. Run down blankets are put in between sheets and they did spoil my experience. The pillows are old. I kept wondering through the night that a cottage at $395 per night cannot sail through with the bed linen that they have. Also they operate on solar geysers and because the sun was not out in the last two days, hot water is available till 9:30am. Again, something that a resort taking that much money shouldn't say. Our dinner was served in our cottage. It was hot and tasty.
Morning, we went to the main dining room for breakfast and it was a meagre spread, which is never a problem for me. But the food was cold. Apparently it was laid out two hours before we came for breakfast for a group that was leaving the property and then not reheated for us. Our hints were not acknowledged and then I firmly spoke about it being cold and then some of it was heated. The dining hall was swarming with flies and we had a tough time getting a spoonful to our mouths without getting them out of our way.
To my mind, the place is scenic, beautiful and pristine. Not as looked after by the staff as it should be. Ignored, misused and neglected are words that I could safely use. Also the place is low on energy. They don't receive as much traffic as some other properties in Munnar. I was happy to leave in a night. Anymore would have troubled my pocket and I would really be more judgmental about what I received in return for my money. May not return.

We had the most wonderful stay at camp noel. the staff was extremely friendly and looked after us like house guests. The food was great and they accomodated our personal requests. The fireplace in the rooms is definitely the high light and the magnificent view and vast landscapes out side our room made for the perfect romantic getaway :)

Room Tip: they upgraded us witout our requesting for it so no comments! :)
