“Nice rural location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Nice old farm, we enjoyed our stay. Shower mat and smaller towels could be added for a more pleasant stay. Be aware that a 3% commission will be added to your Cottage Farm bill if you pay by credit card. The Strandhotel restaurant nearby has good fish dishes and a fine view of the small harbour. The SevenEleven around the corner closes at ten, not eleven ...

The Cottage Farm B&B is less than five minutes by taxi from CPH airport. We stayed there the night before departing after two weeks in Scandinavia. It's clean, quiet, and a relaxing place to spend the evening. The owners, who are originally from England, were friendly, letting us use their car to drive into the village for dinner. They didn't charge us anything for this, and we appreciated their friendliness. The owners also arranged for a local taxi the next morning to drive us to CPH airport.
I'd note that while Cottage Farm is close to CPH airport, it's too far to walk with luggage; you need to take a taxi.

I highly recommend this B&B as a clean, friendly, helpful place with a great location close to the Copenhagen airport.

Cottage Farm is a lovely thatched-roof farm built about 1820 around a cobbled courtyard. Roms have exposed beams and look out on pastures with grazing horses. A peaceful retreat after a busy day of touring Copenhagen. It is located about 5 km from the airport, just outside the charming small town of Dragor. Easily reached by car or bicycle, or a 10 - 15 minute walk from a bus stop. The bus runs to the center of Copenhagen or you can take it to the airport and catch a train our metro from there. You can also cycle to the airport and take your bike on the train. Breakfast is a traditional continental spread with the addition of a hard or soft-boiled egg if you would like. There are several restaurants/cafes in Dragor, some overlooking the harbor. The hosts have a bike you can use. Don't skip this marvelous place because you think it is too far from the center of Copenhagen.

Room Tip: Some upstairs rooms have small baths due to being located under the eaves. If this matters to you, a...

My husband and I chose this B&B precisely because it said "cottage" and "farm". We had just spent 3+ weeks in high rise hotels in urban settings and we were looking for something low key and relaxed and quiet. That is what we got. Well except for the chickens but looking out our window to the cobblestone courtyard the chickens were the exact right touch. Yes there were some minor challenges but they were easily overcome and did not detract from our enjoyment of the entire experience. We enjoyed breakfast around the big farm house table with other guests, we enjoyed the quaint town of Dragoer and loved our meals in the cafes and restaurants. We had rented a car and even enjoyed our drives in the area. I would love to go back someday and spend more time at the Cottage Farm and go exploring with that as my base.

I stayed here with my parents and I was initially excited when I saw the farm - it was such a beautiful location and the locals were great.
Unfortunately, it went downhill from there mainly due to the hosts. When we arrived, breakfast was finishing up so we asked if we could still get breakfast (and offered to pay extra) and were brusquely told no because she needed to get our rooms ready. So it was a bit of a shock when we came back after a long day of sightseeing to find that the bathroom only had a few squares of toilet paper left on the roll with no replacement in sight. My dad slipped and nearly broke his back coming out of the shower since there was no bath mat. My Mom asked the host for extra towels to use in lieu of a mat and the husband seemed perplexed. He also failed to provide anymore toilet paper. My mother had to sneak to the laundry room and grab a roll of paper towels.

I could go on, but you get the idea. For the record, my parents and I are seasoned travelers of Europe, so we weren't expecting American hospitality at all, but it's sad that I felt more kindness from the bus driver than from our hosts. If you're running a bed and breakfast, isn't being a people person a normal prerequisite?

We decided to stay in Malmo after that and had a much more pleasant stay.

Sorry these guests felt justified in writing such a bad experience - we always try our best to please.... But;
Our check-in time is clearly indicated to be from 14:00 - 20:00, although we do our best to accomodate early arrivers... They can leave their baggage, and pick up a key etc...
The previous days guests can have the rooms until 11:00, and we serve breakfast from 08:00 - 09:30.
After breakfast is cleared away, and everyone has checked out, we can start on the rooms for the days´check-ins, and the occupied rooms freshen ups... As you'll appreciate, we cannot offer breakfast at 10:00 am - our busiest time - even if it's offered to be paid for!
As for the toilet paper, we're sorry for this oversight, but I'm sure if the guest had reminded us, we would have been very apologetic and gracious with our supplies...
Bath mats are standard in our rooms with private bathrooms, where there are tiled floors, but where there are shared bathrooms we obviously cannot administrate them, with different bathroom users. Here, though, the floors are a non-slip bathroom linoleum...

We stayed at Cottage Farm B & B on September 3 and 4, 2011. The setting is very rural (chickens and horses on the farm) and quiet, but still convenient to Dragor and Copenhagen. The hosts were very helpful. There were a few matters such as stains on the bedroom carpet and chairs. As long as you realize that it is a farm and are not expecting hotel type accommodations this is a comfortable place if visiting this area.
