“Peaceful and relaxing retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

We stayed 3 nights at this Boutique Hotel which has been tastefully furnished and reminded us very much of Indian architecture. The gardens were absolutely beautiful and we were amazed at the amount of wildlife that called these gardens home. The hotel is situated very close to Temples and literally only a 10 minute walk to the main gate. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with extremely high ceilings and massive entrance doors. The breakfast was excellent which you order the night prior. The staff were so friendly, helpful and extremely attentive and every afternoon a musician played traditional Indonesian music which just added to the atmosphere and ambience of this gorgeous hideaway. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone visiting Borobudur.

This is a lovely hotel and on entering it you just feel at home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were given a cold drink and wet cloths to freshen up whilst checking in. The room was spacious, clean and we had a huge bathroom with lots of hot water which isn't always the case in Java. We ate dinner there, which was excellent and there was also a musician playing traditional music which added to the atmosphere. There is no buffet breakfast. Your order is taken in the evening and it is served on time and very efficiently. It was also very good. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting this area especially as it is so close to Borobodur Temple.

This hotel is very near to Borobudur. Basically you can join the sunrise tour at the Borobudur and be the first to visit before it become very very crowded :)

The room is spacious, clean, high ceiling. But dont expect much on breakfast.

Probably the best of available hotels in the area. A pity it is hidden behind a scrappy fence and unwelcome gates. The foyer area is imposing, and comfortable and the room wing with an internal courtyard is attractive. Our room was comfortable with a good bathroom .Our breakfast was ordered the night before and was ready at the correct time and good too!. This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the monument gates. We ate on the street at the nearby corner and the food was delicious. You must try the banana pancakes @ 9000rp they are "worth writing about". We had a few Bintangs in the hotel foyer, the hotel charge about three times the normal bottle price, although it is still cheap by our standards. I was charged a 10% service charge on the accommodation and tax sub total, a practice which I think is very shady!
I would return here but avoid eating and drinking in the hotel.

Room Tip: In the off season negotiate a better price.

The design of this place was done in a stuffy and imitation-European style that seemed a bit out of place in the middle of this small village in Indonesia. It felt more like a retirement home than an exotic holiday destination, and definitely lacked any sort of Indonesia culture in the atmosphere.

The building and rooms were clean enough, but the pool looked very neglected and was green with algae. Even with the hot weather, the temptation to go for a dip was dashed by the grimey appearance.

The location was the best part--an easy 10 minute walk to the Borobudur ruins.

The service was just average, with the staff only understanding basic/standard requests in English. Overall, for the price they are charging and compared to other hotels in the area, it just didn't feel like it was worth the money.

I stayed here for a night while visiting the temple of Borobudur. The location of the hotel is great - no more than a 5 minute walk to the temple itself (about 2 minutes to the ticket booth). the room are reasonably priced for the quality and location. Very clean and comfortable with WIFI. There's a nice pool on the grounds and the meal I had for dinner was great. I would recommend this place for anyone considering visiting the temple.

This boutique hotel was a short walk to Hotel Manohara for the sunrise tour at Borobudur. We arrived just before dinner so we would be well rested for Borobudur the next day. The staff was very friendly and kind. Our rooms were nicely decorated, clean and quiet. The courtyard with pool and massage area is quite pretty and quaint - a nice place to relax. The dinning room is open with beautiful wood features. The menu was simple but the atmosphere was great. It was a nice treat to have a musician play traditional music for us at dinner. We ordered our breakfast the night before and it was ready for us when we came back from the sunrise tour.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. This time we saw the sunrise over the Merapi - next time we'll go to Merapi and watch it rise over Borobudur.
