They took us at our hotel at 6:30 am. Then we travel by van from Punta Cana going through Higuey to Rio Chavón where Captain "Mula" and his fast motorboat were waiting for us. There were 10 of us in total, eventually, the launch began to sail down river towards the Caribbean Sea. The beauty of the Caribbean is just amazing: the clear and warm waters, the palm trees and coconut palms.
We pass through a mangrove swamp at low speed so we could take pictures and have a glance at this magnficent flora.
We resume our travel to the next stop: Isla Catalinita. There we could get out of the boat for a walking by the shore of this small island. There we enjoyed watching and taking pictures with conch. I tried to make the most of that opportunity so I took pictures of what the caribbean sea was offering us: the sand bands, the turquoise bands and the navy blue bands all combined forming an awesome sight.
We went on with our journey to Saona Island, but in our way, Captian Mula stop the boat to enjoy a natural sea pool for a while.
We arrived at Saona Island at 12:30 aprox. where he left us for approximately two hours, We could enjoy the beach, we had lunch: buffet, there was a free bar for all of us: Loved the mamajuana, Brugal rum, etc. The peddlers were a little bit pushy but we bought some souvernirs from them. I've got the feeling to be understanding with them.
Finally we come back to Bayahibe, once again I would like to emphasize the beauty of the landscapes.
I would like to remark that Captain Mula was very obliging, we were travelling with our kid and Captain helped us many times: when getting on/out of the boat, etc.
Absolutely Recommended, if you visit Punta Cana which is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean you shouldn't miss this opportunity.
